Just days after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, theories are flying from all directions. Many who ridiculed the “conspiracy theories” of conservatives are now suggesting the whole event was a set-up to boost Trump in the polls ahead of the election. Others suggest it was the “deep state” or even foreign actors who organized it.
Former US Navy Seal and founder of Blackwater, Erik Prince, claims that “The fact that [the Secret Service] allowed a rifle armed shooter within 150 yds to a preplanned event is either malice or massive incompetence.” He went on to observe that, “unaccountable bloated bureaucracies continue to fail us as Americans,” adding that “unserious and unworthy people in positions of authority got us to this near disaster. Merit and execution must be the only deciding factors in hiring and leadership, not the social engineering priority of the day.”
Video has emerged showing that for at least two minutes law enforcement knew someone with a gun was on a roof aiming at the former President and no one communicated the need to pull Trump from the stage. You can clearly hear the crowd warning law enforcement that someone was on the roof. Yet he was unhindered until the first shots rang out.
Considering this fact, Erik Prince has a point.
If this is like any previous governmental foul-ups, we can expect hearings, investigations, and commissions that will actually serve to hide the official errors or even malicious intent by some in the government.
That’s what government does no matter who is in office: protect itself from actual scrutiny and resist being exposed as incompetent or worse.
But what if there was a genuine investigation that actually revealed the truth about what happened at the Trump rally over the weekend?
Could we rely on the mainstream media to even report it?
This is the same media that, after Trump was clearly shot on live television, reported “Trump escorted away after loud noises at PA rally.” (Washington Post). And “Secret Service rushes Trump offstage after he falls at rally.” (CNN).
This is the same mainstream media that has been comparing Donald Trump to Hitler for years, and now pretends to be shocked that their vile rhetoric ended up in violence.
There is a good reason why the mainstream media is regarded by the American public with record levels of contempt.
The current Director of the Secret Service has been interviewed expressing her dedication to “diversity” in hiring agents.
What if her dedication to DEI goals led to an agency that is more “diverse” but fails at its core mission? Can we rely on the media to inform us of this? Or will they, as usual, just blame it all on the Second Amendment?
What if the problem with the Secret Service is that it was moved into the bloated, incompetent, and menacing Department of Homeland Security, the creation of which I strongly opposed when I was in Congress?
We shouldn’t count on hearing the truth about the attempted assassination from the mainstream media.
No wonder the elites remain determined to censor social media sites like Twitter/X and TikTok.
We live in an empire of lies, propped up by the mainstream media. And seeking the truth in this empire of lies is the greatest challenge for us in the moral bankruptcy in which we live.
I think they mean that conservatives think it was a set up by the Deep State, not that it was staged.

The media are reflexively instantaneous gaslighting liars in absolutely every situation. They will boldface tell you the grass is not green and the sky is not blue. They spent hours on Saturday asking people who weren't there how they feel and refused to ever point the cameras for a millisecond at the building the shots came from.

We never figured out the Kennedy assassination, as well as attempted assassination of Congressman Scalise.
And bunch of other assassinations.
E.g. assassination of King Alexander of Yugoslavia in Marseille, before WWII. That is all on tape, the bodyguards were extremally incompetent, but then killed the assassin instantly. That caused Yugoslavia to withdraw (temporally) from the anti-nazi coalition and helped Hitler to start the war!
How about this: Olof Palme, the Prime Minister of Sweden, was assassinated on February 28, 1986, in Stockholm.
The incident: Palme was shot while walking home from a cinema with his wife, Lisbet Palme, on a central Stockholm street.
Circumstances: He had dismissed his security detail for the evening, which was not unusual for him.
The shooting: An unidentified assailant shot Palme in the back at close range. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
Investigation: The case remained unsolved to this day, becoming one of the largest criminal investigations in Swedish history.
In June 2020, Swedish prosecutors named Stig Engström, also known as “Skandia Man,” as the likely killer. However, as Engström had died in 2000, the investigation was closed without formal charges.

Never been one for labels. That limits your chances of flexability and increases your chances of being misunderstood. But here’s what I think a conservative is:
American conservatives tend to support Christian values, moral absolutism, traditional family values, and American exceptionalism. They tend to be pro-business and pro-capitalism, while opposing going against social norms or being evil. But mostly conservatism is a type of political belief that supports emphasis on traditions and relies on the individual to maintain society. That doesn’t mean we are against change. We just don’t want to see others hurt with it. We love and fear God in some way. We are giving and honor freedoms while worshiping the gift of human dignity. I came up with a family that worked to not be poor and ended up more than wealthy. Now I give of my time, what little I have left, for those less fortunate and espcially for kids. They need a future they can have a say in. I try to help them get there while they learn how.
Like I said, gotta define it first. Think I got a little of it. We’re pretty complex.

No we have NOT. And we were most likely LIED to about Crooks buying a ladder. Lied to at just about EVERYTHING. We still don't know what vehicle he was driving, the van, the truck, a small sedan, a car with Arizona plates. etc. etc.etc. They try to obfuscate everything to confuse , and muddy up the facts.Heck we don't even know if he is a transmale or a transfemale. some said he laid down a blanket to keep from getting burned, others said No blanket. Why, because I don’t just automatically accept what the GOP wants for everything. That’s the definition of a liberal. Nothing ever is as it seems. It’s up to us to generate a particular opinion of everything we observe based upon our capacity.

Of course it is. Everything we have and do is defined by someone else some before we were even born. We are taught that over time from schools, people, and circumstances. But it’s our responsibility to ourselves and others to interpret a definition to be good or harmful and go with it. I chose mine.

I guess I didn’t make my writing obvious enough. You are asking me to display the time or reason I decided on certain things. And you do the same thing. You’re not a big fan of Vance. Okay, I think different. Does that make us any less a conservative by the definition I gave you, either way?
I’m not that smart that I can be a paid disrupter. Just opinionated like yourself about things that pertain to me. My mother was an english teacher so I may have a little more command of the language than some. (You’d never know it from my typing) And I’ve been around a long time seen a lot of things, and have cherished life to the best while I have tried new things that looked good for me. Had a full life. But I’ve also paid my dues. Been worth it.
Look at it this way. I’m not exactly what you want me to be. You, for me, aren’t either. But we are not robots so we have different teachings and been different places, have different ideas. Does it make any difference what a person is if they agree on the same things? That’s bigotry. And I can guarantee you, we won’t agree on everything. I’m not you.

Me, too, Wildcard_redneck. This whole affair has made me furious. And, I am surprising myself by remaining quickly and utterly furious when I hear any excuse for the Trump Assassination attempt being an intentional effort by anybody except the Democrats.
I know of no group in the USA that acts like that latest group the Democrats. I think those people that think the Trump assassination attempt was an acceptable Democratic activity should be lined up and shot. Period!!
I get enraged when they claim it was staged and that Trump “only nicked his ear.”
We get more truth about this here on FR than any other source.
