CNN reported:
Former President Donald Trump can now publicly speak about witnesses like Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels who testified at his New York criminal trial, according to a court order on Tuesday that rolls back parts of a gag order Judge Juan Merchan imposed before the trial began.
Trump, however, cannot discuss any prosecutor, court staffer or their family members, as the latest order from Merchan upholds that portion of the gag order. That aspect of the gag order remains in effect at least until his sentencing, which is set for July 11, the latest ruling says.

I hadn’t thought about that, it makes perfect sense except for one thing.....nobody’s colluding against Trump...ita all a coincidence....so that can’t be. 😉
/s/ for good measure
He is a true bastard. Now Biden and the moderators can bring up the trash, but Trump can not bring up the lawfare.
I thought this part had been lifted already. It sounds like Trump can’t refer to Colangelo being sent by the DOJ to make sure Bragg brought the case. So when Biden taunts Trump during the debate he will violate the gag order if he says that the White House was behind the indictment.
FJJM !
It could be a trap for the debate for sure.

That’s exactly correct. Merchan and Alvin Bragg will have the evidence of Trump violating it on national TV.
(Now Biden and the moderators can bring up the trash, but Trump can not bring up the lawfare.)
You’re absolutely right 👍
I agree with you, this is a trap, or an attempt at one.
I’m still waiting on an explanation as to why a State Court’s gag-order can be enforced outside that State?
Trump will be in Georgia.
To enforce that gag-order Merchan will have to \directly\ violate Trump’s 1A rights.
There is no “interstate reciprocity” agreement regarding the 1st Amendment that I know of.
You think a little contempt charge in NY will stop PDJT from saying whatever he likes at the debate?
Merchan will jail PDJT on July 11, or he won’t. What he won’t do - because he, like all leftits, is a coward - is jail PDJT for what he says during a presidential debate.
Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.
The whole thing was a setup.
They can’t even tell you how Merchan got the case.
Merchan coordinated with Prosecutors and the upper court.
Trump didn’t even know what the Charges were against him. Trump lawyer’s rightly brought this to Merchan’s attention, and Merchan said, that’s not how I read the Law!
It’s called notice of Allegation - and it’s a Constitutional right.
Why is there extradition then?
Excellent point.
So now Trump can have a little fun - if they ask about the trial he can say “Stormy wasn’t the biggest boob in the courtroom” or “Michael Cohen’s ethics, as low as they are, were much better than some others in the courtroom”.
Trump may be in Georgia, but if he violates that New York gag order, it is incumbent upon the state of Georgia that the gag order be enforced to the point of Georgia authorities arresting Trump and holding him for extradition to New York should that state demand it, which it will.
Did Fani Lewis ever get a gag order on Trump in Georgia?
I have no idea.
IMHO - Trump should go ahead and SHRED the gag order. There’s no reason for it. That it was imposed during the trial is a violation of free speech - the government doesn’t get to strip away that right just because of a trial. If anything, gag orders are only supposed to apply to GOVERNMENT (prosecution), to not taint a jury pool. A judge has no business doing this to a DEFENDANT - who has every right to speak against GOVERNMENT, especially when it is targeting him for a crime nobody else will ever be subjected to.
Where’s the SC?
