Here is the latest news on little Allie Rose.
Allie is 4 years old and still in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
In January Allie became very sick and her illness was a puzzle to medical people.
She slipped into a coma and was in that state for about 6 weeks.
In a stunning example of the power of prayers, Allie woke and was able to appropriately smile.
She is expected to be in CHOP for at least another several months.
At this point Allie is out of ICU and breathing on her own but still having important difficulties.
During her intubation she bit her tongue off and it had to be surgically reattached – we don’t yet know how much benefit she will derive from this procedure.
During her long coma her limbs became stiff so to start fixing them doctors have set them a series of temporary casts – first her right leg and left arm and next her left leg and right arm.
It has been determined that Allie’s brain must be re-trained to facilitate commands to her limbs.
She has to re-learn how to swallow before re-learning toileting and re-gaining serviceable speech.
She has shown great resilience and laughs appropriately and is very aware of her surroundings.
Nevertheless, this is the third phase of her recovery – after having her life saved -then a determination that enough of her brain was saved to work with in rehab and now the long slow process of rehabbing this little angel.
The team that is helping Allie is optimistic that she might be able to merely be “slow” but able to be placed in a mainstream class once she is able to go to school.
Allie has shown us that the power of prayer can do amazing things.
Please keep praying for Allie and her family.
Our family thanks you all.
Dear Lord, please continue the work of healing Allie to full recovery,in Jesus’ name.
My granddaughter is a lead research data analyst at CHOP. She’s more likely than not involved in this case.
Thanks for the updates. Much appreciated. 🙂👍
Hate to see kids get sick, but am encouraged by the fact that children tend to cope better than older folks with it because of their youth and energY and vitality, and drive to get better. It’s when one get older, and sick that they begin to give up and not have the drive to get better, perhaps thinking that beczuse of their age, they will never feel good again- kids are usually optimists, compared to older folks- relatively speaking- not all older folks get despondent and feel like things wont improve of course.
God bless this young child and strengthen her day by day.
Many prayers going out.
Stay strong. Hang on to Jesus. Continued prayers for Allie and family.
I’ll pray for her, don’t worry.
. . .
Thank you for the update.
I will keep Allie in my Prayers.
Father God,
Our Almighty Healer and Source,
Bring every insight needed to Allie’s medical team,
we pray in Jesus’ Name!
Amen!
Father, in the Name of Jesus, we ask that You continue to heal Allie, until she is completely whole! As we approach Resurrection Day, when the atonement Jesus provided is remembered, we acknowledge that that atoning sacrifice has the power to heal Allie completely! Thank You, LORD, for Your amazing grace and mercy, in Jesus Name, Amen!
My continued prayers for your sweet little Allie.
“ During her intubation she bit her tongue off”
?
Can any medical people verify this is a thing?
BTW my grand daughter’s name is Allison Rose.
Thank you for the update. Continued prayers on the way.
Thank you for the update. Continued prayers on the way.
Is there any idea what happened?
I remember the story of a child slightly older who lost a massive portion of their brain, I believe it was to a cancer, and they recovered 100% full function, like a normal kid. They said in those early developmental years, the brain just has incredible ability to rewire everything, even taking parts which were designed for one thing, and hijacking and rewiring them to make them do something else entirely.
I do not know any specifics here, but that story made it sound like with the prayers and some time, you guys will be A-OK.
God Bless.
Continuing daily prayer here.
Thank you for the update.
Saying a prayer for Allie today. I’m sure it must be a continuing challenge to keep improving. Keep your chin up, Allie. Jesus loves you.
