When I read the constant exhortations from Joe Biden, Anthony Blinken, and others urging Israel to enter into a cease-fire with its mortal enemies and to participate in a “two-state solution” with those who have sworn to destroy it, I cannot help but reflect on the advice from General of the Armies Douglas MacArthur — lhard and bloody lessons learned in the Pacific from 1941 to 1945:
“From the Far East, I send you one single thought, one sole idea – written in red on every beachhead from Australia to Tokyo – ‘there is no substitute for victory.’”
Biden thinks he knows better, but he is a fool.
General MacArthur’s message comes to mind when I consider the following report from a friend in Israel.
....
A good friend, Maya Eckstein, is just winding up a trip to Israel with members of the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond. She has sent updates to me and other friends about her experiences and observations. They are both chilling and thought-provoking. Here are some excerpts with a few minor non-substantive edits. All photos are Maya’s:
We went from the airport to Kibbutz Nir Oz, where 80% of the houses were destroyed to the extent that they now must be demolished and more than 100 were killed. We were taken thru it by a resident who lived there with her family and hid in their safe room for 10 hours before finally the army came.
...
The resilience of the Israeli people is amazing. The entire country is suffering from trauma. And they are relying on us — no, begging us — to help them make sure the world doesn’t forget about what happened on 10/7.

How about:
one hostage freed -> no aerial bombing for 24 hours
And of course Israel is going to let the clock tick quietly away if Hamas sends out the hostages.
As an incentive to release more than one a day, add in a 12-hour bonus for every one after the first on any day.
Release 4 hostages on Monday = 4 days + 36 hours no aerial bombing
Almost every Gazan would have an incentive to help in the freeing of the hostages.
Thanks for posting the MacArthur quote.
Israel has been at war for 75 years, it’s not clear what the plan for victory is, or even if victory is possible.
Call the hostages prisoners of war then pound the enemy until unconditional surrender. Islamic foes deserve extra brutality because that evil Religion of theirs makes them harder to break.
The first step is to admit Islam is inherently evil and stop giving it any respect. Treat it like the evil contagious mind virus that it is.
“From the Far East, I send you one single thought, one sole idea – written in red on every beachhead from Australia to Tokyo – ‘there is no substitute for victory.’”
Except, and I am saying this as a real question: “What will victory look like here?”
If the same people that hate you and used every dime of humanitarian aid to dig tunnels and kill you are still there, what has changed? Why won’t it just happen again? Sadly, it will.
The really sad part of this, from a human experience, is that while nations support the hate, the Islamic right to murder Jews, and supply weapons, that area will NEVER have peace. The Jews will either be annihilated, or they will annihilate the Palestinians who support bigotry, victimhood, and unrestricted violence. The only ways to end it are genocide, massive deportations of people who support the hate. Trump plan may have worked, but the Democrats preferred to destroy that and start wars. Changing the leadership of Israel won’t change a thing, IMHO.
Thanks for posting the MacArthur quote.

MacArthur/ Patton. Tell it like it is to ensure freedom.
Todays pols / commanders pale in comparison to these giants who gave us freedom that is ignored today in so many ways
The Gazans don’t care. They support Ham Ass.
I don’t understand why Israel doesn’t trust Joe Sniffer Biden and Anthony Blinken after the totally brilliant way they dealt with Afghanistan... /s
Every page was in Arabic on the left side, and English on the right. The English side was just like the other modern ones, all the "bad" stuff left out.
I have a non Muslim friend who is fluent in spoken and read Arabic. I asked him to come to the bookstore with me, because I was too cheap to buy the book.
I pointed out the sura I mentioned, and a few others, plus there were some he was familiar with he wanted to check. (he had spent quite a few years in Saudi-Arabia as a civilian). I have never seen the expression that came on his face before. Absolute shock.
He had only seen true versions before too. He said, "My God, they are two different books". I remember those exact words. I don't remember the rest of his comments word for word, but he went on to say, that this explains why so many people in our government have the wrong idea about Islam.
Every non Muslim (infidel) needs to read a true translation of the Holy Koran. Then they might understand why this is happening and why it will never stop happening.
IMHO these are probably the most accurate translations, and they are FREE.
How about:
The hostages are casualties of war.
Kill all of Hamas, no matter what. There are no innocent civilians living in Gaza - they all cheered 10/7, children included. They all focus on killing Jews on Saturday and Christians on Sunday as written on the Hamas flag. They love and worship death. They are not the muslim down the street.
Plus Sinwar travels with his hostage child sex slaves. How are you going to get them?
Sadly few realize that the korans is a jumble of suras, mostly taken from the Bible and the Torah; worse readers are left to their own devises to figure out meanings.
No one has told them that to understand the koran they must read the hadiths and sunnahs, which chronicle the life and sayings of Muhammad.
These are Talibari, Muslim, Isaq and Bukhari; Hadiths are Mohammed’s word to his followers, the Sunnahs are the history of Muhammad and his motto (sic) was “Kill, kill, kill”.
AA has a slogan that is apropos for the Israeli's situation, "One day at a time." Every morning they awaken and find their people still have control of their homeland is another day of victory.
Because they can't kill all the Arabs, else in the doing they themselves would become indistinguishable from the Arabs. And they can't eliminate the "idea" of Islam. That is toothpaste that won't go back in the tube.
So the only alternatives are 1) let the Muhammadans exterminate them (or at least capitulate to Sharia law) or 2) gird their loins for battle and prepare to play "Whack-a-Muslim" for all eternity.
Because this always has been the way of the Muhammadans. Since its inception they have been driven (by a combination of Islam and Bedouin tradition) to conquer what they could and kill the rest.
“play “Whack-a-Muslim” for all eternity.

Then they need to place them on ships and move them to Iran. The Iranians, in their kind hearts, will take them in, and not sink the ships at sea.
No. Never. Prisoners of war are legitimate combatants, captured after surrender in a conflict. Hostage taking is a crime under any circumstances. Holding hostages, or treating prisoners of war as hostages is a war crime. Hamas is worse than the Nazis.
Bump. Everyone should read this.
IMHO, the true translations of the Holy Koran is very clear about many things.

Then you lack even a rudimentary understanding of Islam.
If Americans ran our government, the President would have announced on October 8th 2023 that a US aircraft carrier was moving to the eastern Med and would begin carpet bombing of Gaza.
Bombing would end when every American was released.
QED.
If "victory" is the Biden/Blinken plan of a "two-state solution, living side by side" then yes it is IMPOSSIBLE, reflecting a fundamental misunderstanding of Islam, at the very least.
If "victory" is the eradication of Hamas and the permanent purging of Hamas from Gaza and the West Bank, then that is likely next to impossible, mostly because of opposition from Israel's so-called "friends" that want a two-state solution.
