While many on the left are cheering the recent civil fraud ruling ordering Trump to pay $355 million, famed entrepreneur and Shark Tank star Kevin O'Leary has been teaching a MasterClass on why it is unjust and could destroy New York.
One person who defended the verdict is CNN’s Laura Coates, who clearly doesn't understand the implications or perhaps even the details of the case.
"Wouldn't there be many companies who would not want to do business or loan money to people like yourself for investors if they know that they can get away with fraud and there's no recourse to protect them?" she asked.
"Excuse me, what fraud?" he asked. "This is not about Trump anymore."
"I know," she claimed.
"When you get a developer that builds a building and he says it's worth 400 million, and he wants to borrow 200 million from a bank, which happens every day everywhere on Earth, including every American city — every developer is an entrepreneur, they shine the light on their building, and they say it's worth 400. The bank does its own due diligence — as was done in this case, because they're very good at it, the banks are very good — and they say no, it's worth 300, we're only going to loan you 150 million. That haggling has gone on for decades, that's how it works."

Coates then attempted to support the argument that Letitia James’ suit was “about making the playing field level for those who are not the major and billionaire investors, but for those who are supposed to put business records out there, want to get a loan, the idea of making sure that they have to have the same true statements included as those who have a lot more money.” She asked O’Leary, “Is there any weight to that for you?”
O’Leary wasn’t buying her ridiculous argument. “Well, I asked you ‘Who lost money?’” he replied. Then he presented her with a hypothetical where she and he were seeking to invest in a data center and asked whether she would rather invest in a state that is pro-business and supports entrepreneurs or New York.
“Why would we go to New York? Why take the risk?” he asked. “My only point is, did we just diminish the great state of New York and the great people of New York? And shouldn’t they ask for better management so they don’t become a flyover state? Remember, New York has the highest taxes in the country, the worst regulatory environment, and it’s incredibly mismanaged. And I pointed out now, on top of that, you get this insanity, a victimless crime. “
Engmoron and Lucretia Have destroyed the New York real estate market..................
Unfortunately, Kevin is right but you’re going to find that he gets canceled by CNBC and others for his views on this case in on Democrats in general. He’s been pretty outspoken. I give him a lot of credit. But the left will go after him with their knives
I hope we have an outcry from other New York businesses and Banks regarding this situation, but I doubt we will. It will be business as usual. They only went after Trump because they could.
Lets see how this Trucker’s boycott works out and has any effect at all on the situation.
Kevin is right, but it will take several months to see any kind of effect on the market.......................
I think Laura Coates or Nicolle Wallace is posting on FR.
He better watch out. He admitted that he does what Trump did, grounds for destruction!
I’ll bet CNN is regretting having him on
Next Week!
A new line-up of venture capitalists on SHARK TANK!
One of the stipulations of the judgement was that the Trump organization be barred from doing business in NY for 3 years. Regardless of when the Trumps prevail on appeal, I would bet my house that they will reorganize in another state ASAP. I wonder if anyone in NY understands what life is going to be like without the tax revenue generated by corporations like Trump, or CitiCorp or thousands of other companies that are looking at the current legal environment and asking themselves, “Why take the risk?” For trump, the options are easy to calculate and I am certain that Florida would love to have the Trump organization incorporate in the Sunshine State.
O’Leary is right. Business is tough enough without this nonsense. NY doesn’t like Trump’s business? Well, say goodbye to the tax revenue.
Really????
That does not sound like the FR I joined once upon a time.
That judge even looks like hes demon possessed...
What’s their handle?

A two tiered system of justice is no justice.
They are all keeping low because they do not want to be next
We live in a Fascist Dictatorship now.
Biden continues to violate the Supreme Court and eliminate ‘voters’ bad debt. That is unconstitutional disregard for the Republic, and the DOJ does nothing. That’s a dictatorship.
Biden has judges give ridiculous decisions against his political opponents. That’s a dictatorship.
Biden and Obama had Trump spyied on illegally by the FBI, CIA and foreign nations. That’s a dictatorship.
Biden and Obama ‘pay off’ with big contracts the same companies that ‘kick back’ to them or the DNC. That’s a Fascist Dictatorship.
Obama and Biden have turned this nation into a Fascist Dictatorship. The ‘Justice’ system is the same as it was in NAZI Germany for the Jews in the 1930’s.
This ain’t your father’s FR. What went on here during “COVID” (and a lot of the “vaccine” crap that still goes on), is evidence of that. Never saw such stupidity and open embrace of tyranny and insanity here before that. And this Engmoron ruling is as fascistic and tyrannical as it gets. If a judge can simply decide to fine people, after a “trial” in which no defense was permitted, and no loss, harm, or even violation of a law occurred, we’re a full-blown banana republic.
Engmoron should be thrown in prison for the rest of his worthless little life.
Look how long it took for Musk to move Tesla from Delaware to Texas.
Boom! Done and likely never going back.
