Have you ever had a strange experience while driving? Imagine this: you turn off your car, and as you step out, you hear a cry for help. But where is it coming from? Well, for one family, the answer was truly unexpected. When Mary Wolford's family turned off their car after a long drive, they heard a cry coming from the engine. Little did they know that it was a cry for help from a tiny, fluffy creature who had hitched a ride with them.

I like these kinds of posts. Thanks. They are a pleasant diversion from all the fuss and bad news in the world.
Great story; many thanks.
Cats are my favorite people.
Dogs have masters; Cats have staff.
Merry Christmas, little gray kitty!
FTA “”To their surprise, the kitten made a second hiding place beneath another car.””
Surprised?? These people have never seen a cat jump on top of hood of a car for warmth? If the car was just parked, the warm spots are on the hood and under the engine. Cats do this all the time.
That said, it is great that they were able to rescue it. Keep it inside with food and it will stay. Also, while most animals HATE the car trip to the veterinarian, this cat may enjoy being in a car. I can see it curling up under the bottom heat vent. If it is an older car, make sure it cannot crawl into the engine again.

British veterinarian James Herriot (author of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’) once said something that always stuck with me:
You can tell the quality of a person by how he treats a cat.
This would have been a heartwarming story if they had not named him RACCOON. WTH?
My aunt had the same thing happen. She found a kitten living under the hood of her F-150, and adopted her.
cats are good eatin, taste like chicken,,,
Started the car one morning. That was not a pleasant sound.
“You can tell the quality of a person by how he treats a cat.”
I think that’s true. I loved reading Herriot’s books decades ago.
Aw. That kitten looks like our Mel, whom we lost to diabetes several months ago.
Cats are awesome mousers. I live in an old house. It’s mouse-free because I’ve got a cat who will immediately and permanently deal with any illegal immigrants.
(Joe Biden could take a lesson or two from my cat.)
If I want something that tastes like chicken, I’ll buy me a chicken.🐓
Regards!
Think I’ll go give my cat a hug.
We had one found in engine bay. We named him fan belt. Lucky to be alive.
A few weeks ago i was fairly certain i heard the voice of a wookie under my car hood but topping off the power steering fluid seemed to chase it away.

I was lucky. A vet diagnosed my old cat a couple of months ago, and put her on a special prescription diet. Hopefully, this will keep the old gal going.
And as a side note, I use BetterVet. It’s a mobile service that comes to your house. I like it, as my cat goes nuts if she has to go anywhere.
BetterVet is not cheap. But then again, an office visit to a vet is not cheap either.
Dogs warm my heart. Cats make me laugh. I love ‘em both!
I had a cat that jumped up on the neighbor’s car and peed in their vent intakes. I really liked that cat.
Me too. I’ve got the whole collection. Unfortunately, my eyes aren’t what they used to be. And my collection is not large-print.
No problemo! I’ve now got Herriot’s works on audio book. They’re fun to listen to in the evenings. Very calming.
