Surprised?? These people have never seen a cat jump on top of hood of a car for warmth? If the car was just parked, the warm spots are on the hood and under the engine. Cats do this all the time.

That said, it is great that they were able to rescue it. Keep it inside with food and it will stay. Also, while most animals HATE the car trip to the veterinarian, this cat may enjoy being in a car. I can see it curling up under the bottom heat vent. If it is an older car, make sure it cannot crawl into the engine again.

I had a cat that jumped up on the neighbor’s car and peed in their vent intakes. I really liked that cat.

Yep, I always let my cat in the garage for a nap when I get home

Even with a the little paw prints on the paint.
