The Pet Zealot ^ | December 01, 2023 | James Alain L.

Cats have always been known for their mysterious and independent nature. They can be a source of unconditional love and comfort for their humans, but they also possess a streak of cunning and aloofness. In a recent incident, a homeowner found himself locked out of his house, with the keys safely inside. Little did he know, his feline companions held the power to either let him in or leave him stranded outside.

What a precious little marmalade!

Good morning. Did you have a good night?

I need to go put my warm clothes on, then go strip the bed and head to the laundry room. It’s 33° out! *shiver*

Those are my bones you hear rattling in the cold!

Good morning, and not bad. I have lot to do today, too. And it’s cold.

Update regarding Elen: Sally says Elen told her that, even if she’s offered the job in Okinawa, she decided she doesn’t want to go because it’s too far from her siblings.

Ah. The home fires are burning bright enough to be attractive. Good for her!

I know about the “lot to do today, because I’ve got some things to do that MUST go out in tomorrow’s mail. So no nap for me!

Off to do laundry! See you in a while.

Good morning. Happy Monday.

We had a lot of rain yesterday. We were supposed to get a nasty snow storm for this morning, but it passed us by. There was a little snowfall overnight but it’s already rain again. Some white on the cars and the grass. Since it’s a little above 32 fs I think we’ve dodged that storm.

It was an interesting Wordle golf weekend, but back to my normal scoring today.

Laundries is done. I forgot to take an extra morphine before I left and I know better, especially after I fell early this spring.

The laundry room and clubhouse were both very cold, but Chuck has to keep the thermostats set at least to minimum in the winter because of the water pipes. I can adjust them higher, but I might forget to reset them, so I just leave them.

And thanks!

It’s going to be cloudy today so I’m glad I got the laundry done early so I don’t have to see the overcast while I work. It’s depressing to look at! ⛈

Good Monday Morning!

It was a good thing that we covered the vegetables last night as Jack Frost paid us a visit... now to uncover them again...

I guess the timing was right for another one of those improbable ‘monster’ drives off the tee on the Par 4 13th hole... and also for one of those improbable chips up that finds a roll path to the cup... since it happened for the Eagle.... lol

An Eagle?!? Nice shootin, Hoss!

I shot well off the 13th tee to make the mid-fairway straight down the midline. Then had a nice second iron to lay up short of the green. My chip onto the green once again came within heartbreak of the hole, but slipped by to leave me with a 3ft “consolation putt” to save par.

I remain at 3 under heading to the 14th.

All things have been adequately resolved. I think.

Tomorrow, we have to be at church by 5:30 a.m. for the traditional sing-along for Our Lady of Guadalupe.

That sounds fun, for sure! Wish I could be a cold fly on a colder wall to listen to a joyful noise!

🤣

Well you know... it was the combo of the 'monster drive' and the improbable chip up that just rolled in!

Well, 240yd is a very respectable drive, but possible even for decent regulars.
That would leave you about 170yd of the pin; within striking distance of a good iron shot.
Back when I had my 5 iron well grooved I could peg the 225yd sign at the driving range off and on, and I was DEFINITELY NOT an “arm” guy, so I’d regard 160-170yd as quite realistic.
Getting that shot into the cup — that’s a PGA Tour moment.
