GOP Betrayal: House Speaker Johnson Now Says ‘Insufficient Evidence’ To Impeach Biden
Infowars.com ^ | November 11th 2023, 2:44 pm | Jamie White

Johnson previously claimed in July documented evidence "proves" Biden family is "hopelessly corrupt."

"We found checks to Joe Biden and evidence of a massive money laundering scheme and now the new guy you are told is way better doesn’t want to impeach. Such progress," says Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) reportedly claimed Friday that “there is insufficient evidence” to launch impeachment proceedings against Joe Biden.

Johnson reportedly cited the lack of sufficient evidence “at present to begin formal impeachment proceedings” during a closed-door meeting with House GOP moderates, according to the Washington Post.

Johnson’s newfound sentiment was reiterated by Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.), who claimed, “We’ll just go where the evidence goes and we’re not there yet.”

“Most of us are saying, look, we can’t even get a single Democratic vote on this right now. I think the voters will reject what they are seeing when it comes to Biden [policies] — but high crimes and misdemeanors? I don’t think we’ve seen that or enough data to really make a good case and I feel like [Johnson] really agreed with us on that,” Bacon added.

This represents a major about-face from Johnson’s posture in July, when he claimed that evidence “proves” the Biden family is “hopelessly corrupt.”

“The evidence now shows — it proves — that the First Family is hopelessly corrupt. They’ve been involved in extortion, bribery schemes and tax fraud and incredible abuses of power,” Johnson said.

“We have now $17 million and counting of these amounts of money that have been uncovered that were put into these ghost companies that the Biden family put together, many of which when Joe Biden was vice president to hide the sources of this funding. And it involves China and Ukraine, adversaries around the world. It’s a very serious and alarming problem.”

Political commentator Tim Poole speculated that Johnson’s 180-degree pivot was part of a larger political calculus aimed at defeating Biden in the 2024 election.

“Maybe it’s just a 4D chess move. They know Biden is the weakest candidate here…I think they know what they’re doing here,” Poole said Friday.

Others like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) blamed Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) for spearheading the removal of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as speaker, who she claimed was committed to impeaching Biden.

“Not long ago we had a Speaker that believed in impeachment so much that he launched an inquiry without a floor vote, but you were told he was bad,” Greene wrote Saturday on X.

“After 8 R’s and all D’s ousted him, we found checks to Joe Biden and evidence of a massive money laundering scheme and now the new guy you are told is way better doesn’t want to impeach. Such progress,” she added.

The latest evidence of Biden’s corruption was revealed earlier this month by House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), who laid out how Joe Biden received a $40,000 check in “laundered China money” through his family.

Comer last week also issued subpoenas for Hunter, James and former Hunter associate Rob Walker, signaling the Oversight Committee is ready for Biden crime family members to give taped interviews regarding payments that passed through various channels in possible efforts to obfuscate the fact they came from foreign sources.

One thought.

Now is not the time to make Biden a martyr. That is what they want.

Impeaching biden at this point would not be a good idea! First and foremost joe is keeping kammie at bay by keeping her in a 'do-nothing' veep position where she can cackle until the cows come home. A harris presidency, even for just a short year, would accelerate ignition of a world war that would be felt for a thousand years. Rather than spend valuable time on impeachment Johnson should concentrate on making elections honest again! Without honest elections nothing else matters. Then the border. Then the spending.

There will be plenty of time in the next administration to bring justice to the biden family....

You’re right, but see above. All you need is a majority — a big enough majority. The vote against Trump impeachment was 7, 3 Dems and 4 did not vote or voted present.

If we had just 7 refusals, we don’t even get out of the House to the Senate.

IOW, the majority is not big enough to do this.

We know the game is to undermine the new chair at every turn .. so I say let’s just chill a bit and see what we get as events unfold.

Perhaps we need to hand out more tin foil hats to keep the fires down.

Like it or not, unconvicted impeached presidents are a dime-a-dozen these days. Why give Brandon the pleasure.

Let the RINOs form their own party.

The GOP belongs to MAGA now.

“Not time to get worked up yet for goodness sakes.“

Agree. I think MTG was badly embarrassed by McCarthy getting ousted after she had backed him - she might be seeing this as an opportunity to save face.

There are also some other dynamics to consider: if the Biden crime family story goes mainstream now, the DNC has plenty of time to throw Biden under the bus and run Newsome. Wouldn’t it be wise to hold our fire until next summer?

Also, there is a risk that voters may get turned off by impeachments, regardless of which party does it or whether or not the impeachment is deserved. History shows that impeachments don’t hurt a President’s chances of winning re-election - maybe they even help.

I think the speaker knows very well that there is plenty of basis to impeach, but perhaps it is better strategy is to expose more of the utter corruption of the Bidens for the Nation to see. Imagine the impeachment managers actually asking hard questions of this demented superannuated imposter. They do not want to risk the media turning "Granpa' Joe" into a sympathetic defendant in a PR battle. (Shame on you you Republican bullies! Can't you see the stress of his time in office has aged him and he has a medical condition?)

Let them develop the case a bit longer, find and publish more incriminating evidence as a result of their supoenas of his family. Give Joe and the D. party more time to dangle and kick their heels and twist in the wind of public opinion.

Yes, every moment he is in power is damaging to the U. S. but the reality of unqualified Berkley Communist, giggling Kamala, who prostituted herself for advancement, would be worse. She would be a dictatorial tyrant. The less time she is in office the better. Best case is the Democrat (Socialist) Party becomes so alarmed by Joes corruption and Treason that they act to remove him next year before his term ends. (With as little un-natural born Kamala as possible.)

I posted this August 17:

there’s certainly more than enough credible evidence to open impeachment proceedings now. this was true weeks ago.... but pubbies will continue dawdle. they are - as a group - political cowards. it’s mid-August. they will waste a few more months, then after the holidays we will get the ‘we can’t do this in an election year’ excuse. so in all likelihood there will be no impeachment.

and if i’m wrong and they move it along and there is a vote(s) on articles of impeachment, guaranteed there will be a dozen or so RINO-losers that will vote ‘present’ or ‘not-proven (remember that one?)

it will be the end of the republican party as thousands upon thousands of fed-up voters will stay home in disgust.

The two stages constitutionally required for removal are impeachment by the House of Representatives and trial by the United States Senate.

First, the House investigates through an impeachment inquiry.

Second, the House of Representatives must pass, by a simple majority of those present and voting

Third, the Senate tries the accused. In the case of the impeachment of a president, the chief justice of the United States presides over the proceedings. For the impeachment of any other official, the Constitution is silent on who shall preside, suggesting that this role falls to the Senate's usual presiding officer, the president of the Senate, who is also the vice president of the United States. Conviction in the Senate requires the concurrence of a two-thirds supermajority of those present. The result of conviction is removal from office and (optionally, in a separate vote) disqualification from holding any federal office in the future, which requires a concurrence of only a majority of senators present.

I don't care about the trial in the Senate. They'd never get the 2/3 needed anyway. Once the House votes for impeachment he's been 'indicted' to stand trial. There's the asterisk.

So far I’ve only seen this comment coming out of some obscure Chinese dude on Twitter. I, for one, feel like we should give Johnson enough time to unveil what’s going on internally as opposed to speculating our asses off from nebulous sources. I personally don’t like the idea that he’s issuing a CR at this moment but I also know he hasn’t had a ton of time to get his ducks in a row

Impeaching Biden is a waste of time.

Either he will be dead/in a nursing home or out of office before you can accomplish anything meaningful by doing this.

Also it will just look like sour grapes/tit for tat trying to “get even” with Democrats for impeaching Trump.

We have much more important things on our plate, especially running up to the MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION IN OUR HISTORY!

We can’t be distracted by some stupid meaningless impeachment.

If we don’t win BIGLY in this upcoming election, our country is FINISHED!

This Congress can do very little by itself, in the time it has left. The new Speaker should accomplish what he can, in the short time that he has, with the razor thin majority that he has, not WASTING TIME with a useless impeachment.

What the Clinton impeachment and the Trump impeachments have shown us, is that “impeachment” without conviction is a dry hump. You FEEL good, but you didn’t accomplish ANYTHING!

Agree. Go straight to prosecution, conviction, and execution. If only...

Gaslighting you? Just because I happen to have a different opinion than you, at this point in time, does not mean I am trying to make you think anything you don't want to.

You are perfectly free to hold whatever opinion you want, and I personally could care less that you hold a differing opinion. I may even change my opinion as the facts warrant it. Right now there are insufficient facts to do that.

Listen, I have been a lifelong Republican supporter. While I still vote Republican (in most cases the lesser of two evils), however, I am no longer a financial supporter. I support certain individuals only who share my conservative values.

You can call me any name in the book you so choose to call me, because people like you who lack critical thinking skills, are no threat to me.

Have a nice day now.

I said it was one thought. Things are never simple.

The message goes out with the THREAT of impeachment. It needs to be kept in the public eye.

It needs to be repeated like you are doing. AND repeated often in each of our spheres of influence. We are the media if we will get busy.

The court of public opinion is the one that counts. We have much to do.

If each of us was bold enough to speak the truth to the one person who will learn, things would change. But we speak to one knucklehead and give up.

Mat 10:14 If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message, shake its dust from your feet as you leave.

God’s has much practical application, but I hope readers will think about the Kingdom application.

Folks it is sales. You will have 99 rejections before you find the warriors. Once you find some warriors in your life it is sweet.

The CIA or the FBI has really bad dirt on Johnson and played their hand. That's what's going on here.

"Look, Johnson. You wouldn't want this information to get out, would you? Now be a good boy and get out there and repeat after me: "There is insufficient evidence at the moment to initiate formal impeachment proceedings" against President Biden."

"Most of us are saying, look, we can’t even get a single Democratic vote on this right now."

Oh, please. They'll NEVER get a single Democratic vote for impeachment NO MATTER WHAT. We've already got tons of evidence lying out in the open, if we had much more, plus signed confessions from both Biden and son on everything, not a single Democrat would vote to impeach and convict.
