After having been 100% invisible to women all my life, I am beginning to think it has been a blessing in disguise.
RE: “The Problem With Servant Leadership”
Leftist ideology twists everything.
I subscribe to the idea of servant leadership in this manner;
As a leader, I must be proficient in doing, willing to do and actually doing the same things I lead others to do. As a leader, you don’t always have the time to do the things you task others with doing, because you’re in the role of leadership over the tasks, but you better be fully ABLE, SKILLED and EQUIPPED to do those tasks. When the need arises for “more hands on deck”, the leader, in humility, must be ready and willing to actually help to DO the tasks and not feel entitled in your leadership role by feeling that you’re “above” such menial duties. The leader must have the demonstrated, fruit bearing evidence for the same skills over which the leader is charged to lead others.
If you don’t have the skills, you earn no respect.
If you don’t have the care, you after heartless.
If you don’t have the humility, you are a petty tyrant.
People easily see through such frauds and is often why people don’t respect their bosses, their parents, or their church leadership.
This “new and improved” definition, as put forth by these neuvo pontificating authors and “teachers” is the wimpification and demasculation of the original intent. They propose the servant leadership is akin to the examples in contemporary marketing, where the man of the house is a spineless loser with a title, yet no skills, intellect and a chump. This is NOT servant leadership.
follow-up
Matthew 18 and John 13 give clear examples of servant leadership.
If they are driven away then they were not men in the first place.
Yeah, that right there just about covers the whole conversation...
Because a REAL MAN is a masochist.
You can insult and abuse him 24/7 and he'll just MAN UP and ask for more!
Well put... Thanks for that. :)
Let us see how this next war goes with DIE. Diversity Inclusion Equity only armed forces. Let the heterosexual males and females sit this one out. Good for corporate structure, good for society! We are going to lose anyway so why sacrifice the breeding population in another useless war?
I agree. For men, being married has its blessings if you are in a good marriage. However, being single also has its blessings for men and, I believe, more than women.
As a single man, you are responsible for yourself, but you can unapologetically live the life you want, regardless of how others think you should live.
Real men also count the costs of their activity and decide against marriage or such if they believe the costs are too much. It’s not a man’s role in society to accept disrespect and mistreatment.
Men do get a harder sermon than women do.
Perhaps Evangelicals should read and comprehend the full bible, laws of Moses and the prophets. Set examples and expectations.
What about men who really do need to man-up? We all know a few.
“It’s not a man’s role in society to accept disrespect and mistreatment.”
Why not? So what? Life is hard... deal with it head on with resolve or drop out like a crybaby. Especially if decisions were our own and only we are responsible for our decisions.
Reminds me of the time I was complaining about my mother in law and blaming my wife for letting her come around. Then I realized that my mother in law was my fault because I chose to marry my wife. I knew she came with the mother in law. So I had no one to blame but myself.
“Nathanael Blake from EPPC wrote an essay arguing that an aversion to marriage by men is unmanly.”
Pastors continually ignore Paul’s advice that it is better not to marry.
Because a married man's job number one is to get his family into heaven.
They are failing miserably by lacking faith, hope and charity.
Man was made in God's image. Woman was made from the side of Man to be his helper and perfect mate.
I believe that there is someone for everyone, but you have to pray for it. I’ve only been married once, but she was my fourth fiancé. The first three broke up with me. I always prayed for a wife that was: good, intelligent, even natured and attractive (In that order). It took 13 yrs of dating, but we found each other. She likes to try to exert more control than she should and I like to escape the reservation. We’ve been married for over 35 yrs. In our own way it works.
I couldn’t agree with you more.
