I always loved Wings Wild Life,
Mumbo was and is sexier than John Lee Hooker or Elmore James.
Tomorrow - a beautiful little bit of pop.
Dear Friend - an enigmatic hymn to yearning for reconciliation with John Lennon.
It was recorded for Ram but I'd be guessing the intense emotions of the breakup delayed it.
The Lovely Linda underpinned both albums. A marriage that lasted.
Ram on.

On (I think) the tenth anniversary of her death, Paul participated in a special on one of the networks, talking about their life together. I’ll always remember what he said was the thing - according to Paul - that sealed the deal with Linda: she told him she would “make him a home”. This international superstar who had - no doubt - had anyone he wanted, anytime he wanted, for long enough to be 100% jaded and tired of it all. I’m sure she wasn’t the prettiest or the most glamorous woman he had been involved with, but she offered him the one thing his heart was ready for - home and family.
In before the “dog with wings” jokes...
Wings mega cringe . Of all the Beatles solo works the only songs I ever liked were by George , and there were just a couple .
Maybe Paul was right when he said w didn’t know what a library was when odunga had him visit.
After he met Linda, every Love Song was written for her. Probably every song BEFORE her, while he was looking for her. (One would hope!)
I seem to remember reading in one of the books written about The Beatles, that Linda said to Paul, “I can make a nice HOME and a FAMILY for you.’ And that was that! She had family money and a career of her own in those days. She didn’t need a THING from him. She was a GIVER, not a TAKER. (You listening, Yoko?)
How could Paul NOT want a life of country living and quiet solitude? Those ‘kids’ were probably more abused and churned through the meat grinder of FAME than any kids currently ‘making it’ on any of the ‘talent’ shows aired these days.
Anyway, all four of them seemed to settle nicely into a quiet, domestic lifestyle during the 1970s.
It is quite evident watching old clips of them together that Paul was head over hills for Linda. Couldn’t keep his eyes or hands off her.
this band i simply hated more than any other....not sure why, but man i detested Wings.
For my wife, the answer is simple: she just didn't like Paul's voice when singing mostly solo, whether with the Beatles (Yesterday, Long and Winding Road, ...), solo, or with Wings.
Make no mistake, Paul was brilliant in pulling together a song instrumentally. But his vocal range headed to the rafters at times. No one was there to balance him when solo or with Wings.
Ram was one of the first albums I ever bought, and still is one of my favorites.
Paul Mccartney can go F himself. He publicly made insulting remarks about George W Bush in the White House when invited to perform by obama. I repeat, Paul Mccartney can go F himself.
And George Burns, who smoked every day and drank, lived to almost 100.
And Bob Dylan dissed Obama!
Genetic predisposition. Biggest factor of all.
everybody has that one thing that just annoys the hell out of them...and for me it was this band and their music. They way they looked, their attitudes..and their ridiculous, poppy, awful songs. Just the whole thing made my skin crawl. Is what it is...
to me..hes always been an arrogant punk.
