Cool because the 1950s were a period of peace, prosperity and promise in America under President Eisenhower.
After 20 years of wars and depression under Democrat presidents, America was ready to roll again, this time without Uncle Sam spending money he did not have on the military.
America remained, however, the champion of the free world. We drafted the King of Rock and Roll to drive a tank to protect West Germany from a Soviet invasion. Elvis did not complain. He saw it as his patriotic duty because he loved the country. Once his service ended, he came home and resumed his career as a singer and actor.
Imagine some rapper or even country star doing that today. And for the record, Jimi Hendrix served and was a member of the 101st Airborne. That was in the 1960s, which shows the values we had in the 1950s had staying power.

The 1950s are almost too much to hope for. Let’s get back to the 1980’s and steadily move to the 1950s from there.
Unfortunately, Biden will make sure we will vote for Trump in the upcoming primaries. DeSantis may be the next Reagan and in that scenario, Biden will not be able to beat him in the general election.

Too many people accept leftist talking points. It is an article of faith with them to conflate the 1950s - you are not allowed to have any nostalgia for an earlier time, because, things weren’t perfect, or some sort of pseudo-quackery like that.
Note well - and lots of people fall for this, too - their objection (so they say) to “Make America Great Again” is something something about turning back the clock. Everything is always couched in either/or sorts of arguments.
They have an inability to imagine or focus on anything else other than failure. Don’t fall for it.

Yes, the nation was on a patriotic track after WW II, but there were things going on, in the '50s, that weren't so great.
The Stock Market was in a slump, there were recessions, many strikes, lots of parents followed the montebank Doctor Spock, "MODERN ART" was a rage, Federal taxes were high for many people ( though there were taxbreaks for the wealthy who could take advantage of them ), and the STINKING COMMIES were working their way to take over colleges, sub rosa. There was a LOT of political unrest in South America, Cuba, Vietnam, and the split in China ( with Chang Kai Sheck founding a new nation in Taiwan ), and the Korean War.
Polio was still a scurge for most of the '50s, the Asain flu killed people ( mostly kids, but thankfully there were no lockdown, no mask wearing, and no stupid/useless shots ), measles did kill some and made some deaf and/or blind or ruined eyesight, and people died from pneumonia.
The stinking COMMIES filled the halls of our government, McCarthy was vilified and driven to drink, the lefties went after VEEP Nixon, tooth and claw here ( for NOTHING! ) and he was attacked in Venezuela and he and his entourage were almost killed!

But at least most schools still were teaching factual history, current events, English, geography, math, and penmanship.
Kids played outside, played games, read, and mostly had a great time without helicopter parents and electronics ( iPhones, computers, etc.), over scheduled activities.
But people who know factual history know that RDS isn't trying to bring back the 1950s, which is just a really silly thing to claim!

I respectfully disagree with the last statement. When people start taking seriously their opportunity and responsibility to have children, they start thinking about the future, about the fact that marriage is a sacrament, that they want their children to outlive them, and then about eternity.
Overall, my observation is that having children tends to make more people Christian. It brings out the truth.
And becoming Christian will make them have more children than most. Serious Jews, Protestants, and Catholics have a lot of kids and I've watched those kids actually get married and have their own.
You should see the number of children at all ages at those Latin Masses that Pope Francis seems to fear so much.
