One of the best parts of having a pet is cuddling. While some felines don't like cuddling because it makes them feel trapped, others do seem to enjoy it. This is the case of Ellie, a black and white cat who was surrendered by her owner because she wanted to cuddle with him at night.
On December 8, 2022, Ellie was dropped off by her owner at the PetSmart in Chester, Virginia.
If he could not keep the cat because of the GF, I am glad he responsibly placed the cat somewhere it could be adopted rather than throw it out of the house to fend for itself.
As for me, she better be pretty “good” to displace the cat.
Probably 2/3rds of cat allergies are made up, so that may be the case — or it may not. If it were real, having the cat and girlfriend in the same place would have been a problem and the bedroom question would have been moot.
My current cat seems to ask to even get up with you. You have to acknowledge him.
I mean, nowadays he does it more on his own, but in the start he would “ask” almost always to jump up on the couch or bed.
Our current cat was a LITERAL (not virtue-signalling) rescue of sorts - my nephew took him off the streets. He delivered him to us because they already had 4 cats and we had started looking for kittens. We took him as an adult anyway and he has worked out just fine - seems he was well taken-care of and very well trained. His manners, almost impeccable.
Like my last cat who died 20 years ago, whom I had raised (long story though because he became mostly outdoors), this one knew not to put his feet on anything we wouldn’t put our butts on. Human doesn’t sit on table or counter - cat doesn’t get on it. He must’ve been raised this way.
Cat judged to 3-5 years old when we took him.
LOL.
Indeed.
But then, the cat would DEFINITELY be out.
Bet the girl friend dumps him due to his obvious ‘commitment’ issues...
Sure, Ben Franklin.
“Dump the girlfriend.”
Maybe for a dog, yes. But for a CAT?
Wish I could find the meme of Elaine and Seinfeld about the cat....
“Pretty sad, losing out to a cat”
Garbage.
Do you know how much baby-making there would be if that were true, never mind STDs and various “female” problems? (Nurses agree with me, BTW, it’s nonsense that men don’t help pass around the “non-threatening” but VERY debilitating other problems.)
With all the “birth-control” things available for the last 50 years (abortion, “the Pill”, condoms), the illegitimacy rate is sky-high. Back then - either the illegitimacy would be or the death rate.
As am I. Imagine the world without fornication and adultery, how much simpler life would be. No soap operas either, lol!
Even if this were a case of a married couple and one of them develops an allergy, that doesn’t make them the bad guys if they have to find a new home for a pet.
Of our two current house cats, the male will pester you endlessly for pets and he sleeps with me most nights, though at the foot of the bed.
The female? She’s rather chew her leg off than cuddle with you for one minute. She’s BUSY! She’s got things to do all day and night - just ask her, LOL!
I really can’t stand this culture anymore.
My young nieces, who went to Evangelical Christian classical school K-12, are essentially living with boyfriends now. Their parents shrug.
My sister woks at a Vet and just gave us a rescue kitten and you sit down without him sitting in your lap for a rub and scratch ,LOL
Just adopted a beautiful male short haired cat from the shelter named “Andy.” He is about 2 years old and the biggest love machine ever! I am so blessed to have gotten such a great feline and the shelter got him all up to speed with his shots and everything ...It had been a couple of years since my cat “Itchy” passed and I was finally ready to love another one. This guy Andy sleeps in the bed and purr’s like a champ...I can’t imagine not liking a cats affection.
Heh, no doubt. Cat owners are covered in fur and his house, not just the bed. He made a bad trade.
Prior to the situation getting to ... overnights.
The owner fell in love with a woman that had cat allergies. I had dated a guy for about a month. We had finished dinner and I told him I had to stop by the store to get cat food on the way home. He looked horrified and said he didn’t know I had cats, he was allergic and hated them. I told him our relationship wasn’t going anywhere and quit seeing him.
My cat was a non-negotiable item. My husband worked hard to be accepted by the cat before proposing. He succeeded.
They’re both together on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge now.
Some people will sleep with their animals and some will not.
