Now all eyes are on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. He is also coming off a big reelection win in a state that has become a symbol of his party’s governance nationwide. He and Newsom were putting themselves in position to run for president while respecting the frontrunner status of former President Donald Trump and Biden, respectively.
Though weakened by the midterms, Trump has already announced he is running for president again in 2024. Biden was strengthened by them, and while a final decision is still forthcoming, he appears to be leaning heavily in favor of seeking a second term.

I think Ron should go for it. I think he can win. I love Trump but the baggage man is hard to let go of for most people.

The RINO establishment is lining up behind DeSantis…which actually undermines his appeal to conservatives

I’d hate to see him run in 2024 because it would ruin his political future, for this reason.
Gavin Newsom, though, is corrupt to the core & no deeper than a mud puddle but has nice hair. Perfect guy for the ‘rats.

Conservative Inc seem to be going for Ron which makes me suspicious of the guy , I’ll have to wait to see what he thinks about international matters. I suspect he might be a neocon , in which case he lost my vote. Gavin is terrible but is basically the only dem that would have some level of national appeal.
Presumably states will still have their voting scams in place so , in the end I don’t think it will matter much unless it’s a total red wave and republicans get more votes than Dems can steal.

Excellent point.
At some point DeSantis is going to have to pick sides.
Something tells me it won’t be the conservative or conservative sub groups.

You bought into the progressive's and never-Trumpers narrative about Trump.
The negatives have come from the left and from the anti-Trump 'republicans' and the liberal media. Real Trump supporters don't buy into that Trump 'baggage' nonsense.
However, DeSantis could win against any democrat, but he has to beat Trump in the primaries first, but, that won't happen.

“What Will They Do In 2024?”
If Ron runs, he’ll win in a legitimate election. Gavin will cheat. The End

Reagan running against Ford didn’t damage Reagan’s career. One could say it was a plus as it gave him national exposure

The negatives have come from the left and from the anti-Trump 'republicans' and the liberal media. Real Trump supporters don't buy into that Trump 'baggage' nonsense. These negatives come from losing three elections in a row. And sure, "real Trump supporters" still support him but Trump's problem is that he needs more than the MAGA faithful to win elections and everyone else has given up on him.
However, DeSantis could win against any democrat, but he has to beat Trump in the primaries first, but, that won't happen.
And you're probably right on this. Trump will win the primary only to get wiped out in the general election, losing every state he lost in 2020.
2024 is shaping up to be a loss and the man to blame for this resides at Mar-a-Lago.
If Trump cared about this country, he'd step aside, drop this hopeless quixotic adventure, and endorse someone who actually has a path to the White House.

That is not 'baggage' and most people at 78 are not as 'old' as Biden at 78. Biden will be 80 going on 90, while Trump still has a mental abilities of far younger people. Right now I'm 77 and can still out-think most college-age students.
Liberals want people to think that people in their 70s are too old for politics or government work, while believing that Pelosi and Schumer and Biden and most of those 'elderly' in congress, are still capable.
Don't fall for the garbage and nonsense.

Desantis is a globalist free traitor. He would never stand up to China or any other multinational wanting to subvert the US interests and US workers. It's not like he will ever get the chance anyway.
Where else are you going to go?

In the state of New Jersey we have a mandatory retirement age of state/school/local government workers at 72
There is a reason for that.
