The Democratic Party will keep control of the Senate, Decision Desk HQ projects, after a batch of votes coming in from Clark County, Nevada, gave Catherine Cortez Masto the lead she needed to win re-election.
That puts the Senate at 50-49 in the Democrats’ favor. The final seat will go to the winner of the run-off between incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker in Georgia.

Republicans were poised to win up to 53 seats, according to some of the polling leading up to the midterms, but a collapse of the predicted “Red Wave” in several states thwarted those predictions.
The Democrats were able to flip one Senate seat in Pennsylvania as celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz lost against the state’s Lt. Governor, John Fetterman. Democrats were also able to hold all of their swing state Senate seats, including Arizona and Nevada.
The GOP can keep the Senate split, with Vice President Kamala Harris being the tie-breaking vote, should they flip the Georgia seat.
Manchin is 75. I doubt he’s interested in working until he’s 83.

I’m not as old as you (it sounds like) but I’m getting up there and like you, I’m well enough off with a small nut, so my suffering will be nothing like most Democrat voters (GenZ, the young ones) or the stupid Lefty Independents.

Oz opposed abortion, the Affordable Care Act, and the legalization of recreational cannabis, while supporting school choice, hydraulic fracturing, closer relations with Israel, and the right to bear arms.
Fetterman’s stance is the OPPOSITE of all of the above.
Really, would any of the alternatives have won? Would Kathy Barnette ? David McCormick?
A decade ago, Fetterman would have been smoked by 20 points by any normal candidate. I can't claim to answer who would have been better than Oz. I suspect anyone would have lost, whoever was put up to run.

I live as about modest as you can get
My newest car is 18 years old. I have a hobby farm for food and a place to live. What I mean by well off is I’m debt free and I live in rural Hawaii so I won’t freeze to death this winter or the next few and have plenty of food this winter.
No insults intended to those stuck in cities.
I pray for the good people and I’ll let God deal with the bad.

Do I expect Republicans to give up since nothing is at stake now? They did in 2020.
RE: 20 - LOL. Why would McConnell give Masters any $ at all? Master was direct and unambiguous that he would not vote for McConnell as Majority Leader.

My home is my car. The only thing I can grow is mold in the trunk. Georgia gets cold. I could have a very hard time this winter. But pray I do and will. Thanking God for what I do have. He has seen me through so far. Hell continue if I am faithful
Rick Scott needs to resign and let let DeSantis name his replacement.
