Elon Musk Confirms — Twitter employees were secretly selling Bluechecks for $15,000 each…

Sounds like they were secretly lining their own pockets

I can confirm this.

I was offered verification in June of 2015 as I was an author and speaker.

The price I was told, was $13k.

Obviously, I couldn't afford it and continued on.

Elon bought a crime scene and now people are finding out just how bad it was. https://t.co/5qUDIUZYOs

I wonder if the Securities and Exchange Commission is as corrupt as the FBI? Elon might NOT want to call them in until he has copies of everything...

I have always tried to delete excess information in a link from Twitter when I post it because I thought it was suspect and might provide too much information

Dorsey has now confirmed it does.

On top of that it appears they can pretty much zone in on your exact location these days..which is problematic when it is libs trying to out people

Yes, but your $15,000 probably also bought you 300,000 fake followers so it looked someone else gave a sh1t about your posts.

I’m not so sure they can’t or won’t be prosecuted.
There is precedent, imo

At some level, isn’t this similar to what many parents were charged and arrested and spent time in jail.
Buying their children into college.

I was personally sorry to see this happen to Lori Loughlin and her husband…….but to jail they went, and paid a large sum of money as well.

Isn’t a bribe a bribe?

The main question is why anyone would pay that much for the blue check? The second question is what other services did twitter staff offer for money?

Dunno about the US..but in the UK we had a lot of so called celebrities, who ‘mentioned’ Twatter non stop and often for no real reason....It was like they were getting something for it....it was incessant.....it stank.

OTOH $15K to spew lies without spending $200K for a journalism degree to spew lies is a pretty good deal.

The employees were enriching themselves at the expense of the company. Also, when Twitter went public, it’s user base was overstated by a factor of 5 or 10. This is a fraud in and of itself. Anyone in digital marketing knew the user base was way over stated.

No wonder the Blue Checks are upset at Elon. He’s going to let the little people in for $8 a month. They thought they were something special.

Stealing your employers property, putting a price on it and selling it on the black market = theft and fraud

I suspect the employer (Twitter) was in on it. Media companies in particular have run illegal "pay to play" schemes for decades.

It partly explains how and why a company would run at a loss for years. There were enough off-the-books transactions such as these to keep executives flush with cash.

Give the Twitter agent 10% ($1,300 to $1,500) per bribe and pocket the the other 90%.

The FBI, SEC, and IRS are as effective as they were with Bernie Madoff's scam.

Governments run this same scam every day. Just recently a California Sheriff was convicted in civil court for payoffs related to concealed carrier permits, just like NYPD had also been caught doing.

https://bearingarms.com/camedwards/2022/11/04/guilty-as-charged-california-sheriff-convicted-in-concealed-carry-corruption-case-n64016

The State maintains her actions were "minor indiscretions" and not felonies. Yes, they purport that denial of rights by law officials are "minor indiscretions".

“Capitalism?”

Theft. Kind of like selling fake Nike shoes, since you devalue the real product in the process.

I very much wonder how the IRS would see this.

Twitter employee deposits a check for over $10,000? Where did that come from, Sir? Do you have any paperwork? Or — even better — the Twitter employee hides the deal by receiving payment in increments under $10,000: a check for $7500 here, another for $7500 there. I believe that’s consider a very illegal practice.

The RINO’s are either the biggest collection of morons ever assembled or, they are complicit in it all and just use token objections to shield themselves from scrutiny

Replace "RINO's" with "Republican politicians" and you've got the Money Line!!
