What Happens If Russia Attacks With Nuclear Weapons?
19FortyFive ^ | 10/9/2022 | Robert Farley

The impact of the use of a nuclear device in Ukraine will depend on the details. Like any large-scale industrial army, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have obvious pressure points that would be vulnerable to nuclear attack. These include logistical centers, command and communications nodes, and concentrations of front-line forces. During the Cold War the Soviet Union expected to use tactical nuclear weapons against NATO (and expected that NATO would use them in return) and it is therefore likely that the Russian armed forces have workable theories as to how they might best use tactical nukes to inflict damage on Ukraine’s fielded forces.

Yes. When I was a kid, it summed up the absurdity of “duck and cover”.

We used to mock a classmate who thought his 1970s built house could be nuke-proofed. It was 15 miles away from a putative thermonuclear Ground Zero.

American nuclear war horror is often focused too much on the initial destruction wrought by the bombs, or many years into the survivalist society. But the more powerful horror focuses on the immediate collapse of civilisation, and the suffering of those unlucky enough to survive. Famine, birth defects, radiation poisoning.

Domain, by James Herbert, has the survivors decimated by mutant rats.

Are you actually advocating giving nuclear weapons to the coke addict nutcase “president” of Ukraine?

God, no.

But it doesn't matter. Zelenski isn't in charge of anything. He's a puppet. He's taking orders from a higher authority.

"A big effect of Russian using nukes on Ukraine would be the destruction of the massive money laundering operation our criminal political elites."

Dittos !

If I remember correctly, there was a lot of chatter on Al Jazeera back in the "Happy Days" of the Bush Dynasty about GW wanting to use nukes

LOL

while we are on the subject of "what ifs"

How about what if governments focused more om helping their citizens be productive and prosperous instead of focusing on domination and racketeering like gangsters

then maybe they wouldnt even need aircraft carriers and nukes, they would be too busy making stuff better instead of cheating stealing and killing

- Crimean Bridge is back in operation - further repairs are required but road and rail traffic resumes;
- Western media notes the US is out of ammunition to send Ukraine and that US allies have even less;
- Nations like France have reached the limits of what they can send in terms of heavy weapons;
- Regional weather and subsequent mud is limiting the mobility of ground forces on both sides, giving the advantage to Russia which possess a larger air force, more drones, and long-range weapons indifferent to ground conditions;
- Ukrainian forces are losing ground in Bakhmut, indicating Ukrainian forces are already overextended - a situation that will only worsen in time;
- Russian forces are preserving their men and equipment and will soon be reinforced by an additional 300,000 troops;

Moscow certainly has a numbers advantage against the United States and NATO. The Russians have around 2,000 tactical nuclear weapons while the Americans have only 200 with 100 deployed in Europe and the remaining stored at home. That’s a ten to one advantage.

Part of Russian war strategy was the use of tactical nukes in war with NATO. However, studies by think tanks both left and right think such an exchange would soon escalate to intercontinental thermonuclear war and both sides are destroyed. If this is accurate tactical nukes have little value in a war with NATO and would be Armageddon. The real question is what our response would be if any, to Russia using tactical nukes in the Ukraine. I do not know.

This could get out of hand.

“According to the numbers of maimed and dead Ukrainians and Russia to Ukrainian kill ratios numbers, hardly.”

Vlad’s game plan was to have Kiev in early March of 2022. It is now the middle of October and Vlad wants to lob nukes into Ukraine.

Vlad claimed Russian troops would be welcomed by the Ukrainian people.

Now Vlad has now way out except threatening a nuclear war.

How senile is Biden to risk thermonuclear war for saving most corrupt country in Europe?

May be Biden likes Ukraine because Hunter made millions in Ukraine.

What makes you think the exchange of nukes will not escalate beyond tactical level?

Is a nuclear Holocaust worth the risk to save most corrupt country in Europe where Hunter Biden made millions or it’s Soros bot leader, erotic homo dancer Zelensky?

How do you think the military industrial complex in US can remain prosperous without ongoing foreign wars? Do you think the MIC cares about screwing younger Americans with the obscene national debt?

Putin, being leader of the country with the world’s highest abortion rate has no standing to lecture other nations about morals.

"The winds would blow the radiation right back into Russia if he was to nuke Ukraine."

I wonder how the Russians would feel about having a little radioactivity in their grain from Ukraine?

Yes. But he is asking for NATO or any country to nuke Russia in a preventive strike.

Lotsa drugs on board.
