Did you see the idiotic triumphalism from Anne Applebaum in the wake of Ukraine’s recent battlefield triumphs? “It’s Time To Prepare For A Ukrainian Victory” said the headline. She wrote in the Atlantic, in part:
But even though the fighting may still take many turns, the events of the past few days should force Ukraine’s allies to stop and think. A new reality has been created: The Ukrainians could win this war. Are we in the West really prepared for a Ukrainian victory? Do we know what other changes it could bring?
She goes on to fantasize about Putin’s fall.
Meanwhile, here’s Putin’s favorite Russian nationalist ideologue, Alexander Dugin, with some rather less sunny words. Remember, you don’t have to agree with Dugin — some of what he says is hysterical — but you do need to take seriously the fact that very many Russians in power believe it.

Read my post again, your post was a rant, and not relevant to the topic.
Oh please. This is just the apocalyptic rantings of a losing Russian side. The vodka-swilling Russian populace will just carry on and then follow their new leadership once Putin is removed.
“With the exception of Libya, this is false. “
I said study history not recall from your faulty memory.
Perhaps you can name one instead just making an assertion based on your purported study of history.
So much BS on Free Republic “vodka-swilling Russian populace”
Alcohol consumption frequency in Russia 2009-2021
Published by Statista Research Department, Aug 30, 2022
In 2021, 38 percent of Russians reported not drinking alcohol, a share that slightly increased from the previous year. Among the alcohol consuming population, only five percent reported drinking it daily or several times per week.
Of course we are being spoon fed and flat out lied to. We are going to have to kill these assholes before they stop their nonsense.
There’s nothing new here: a constant among the lies and propaganda is the Soviets or Russia threatening nuclear war.
We’ve seen this movie before. It’s literally a cut and paste from the Cold War: Kremlin says “do what we want” or there will be nuclear war. And just like then the Kremlin’s dupe and useful idiots parrot their narrative.
What are you talking about? In every conversation between the US and Russia since 1945 the specter of nuclear war has been the one, front and center elephant in the room. Now, when NATO has defied its charter and declared an unlimited proxy war upon him, Putin is out of line by stating the 80 year obvious reality? It’s pointless wasting time talking to someone who can not see the inherent danger of this. Like I said, until the your media masters flipped the narrative this summer, find me someone else pooh poohing Russian threats of nuclear retaliation in the last sixty years.
See post 36.
Russia is constantly talking nuclear war, nuclear attack, new super nuclear weapons, etc.
You keep ignoring that this nuclear war stuff is Putin.
Putin started threatening nuclear war on the first day of his invasion, on the third day he put his nuclear forces on alert.
Putin has been hammering the nuclear threat ever since, constantly, and having his agents and state media constantly threatening nuclear weapons and war.
Putin has been trying to normalize nuclear weapons for use in invading a neighboring country, normalizing them to stop anyone from aiding the country under invasion. Putin is trying to sell nuclear weapons as usable for normal warfare.

Russia is constantly talking nuclear war, nuclear attack, new super nuclear weapons, etc.
As you said, the nuclear threats have to be ignored. Otherwise, Putin will just get what he wants by threatening nukes, which is why the threats were ignored during the Cold War. I recall when Gromyko with their usual finesse was threatening to turn Italy into another Pompeii if they accepted American cruise missiles.
The result of Putin's removal would probably be a worse dictatorship. But from our perspective, a more competent but also a more cautious dictatorship would still be an entity we could negotiate with, unlike a delusional Putin.
New leadership might not be so committed to the idea of a “historic mission” to restore the imperial (1914) borders.
You think. Maybe.
You got it.
Russia is the most pathetic country, with the most pathetic military, in the world.
Not so sure about that, as I think there are some West European militaries that could give Russia a stiff competition in the lack of equipment, training and military incompetence.
Both wings of the Uniparty are fighting to lead on this road to Armageddon.

Too bad Trump didn’t heed the advice of tens of thousands of his hardcore supporters and establish a true second political party following the culmination of the steal on 1/6. Might have saved hundreds of millions of lives had he done so.
Thank you for recognizing the obvious. I have made that exact point countless times. Most republicans look around, see where the Uniparty (R) has gotten us and say, “send them more money, we take back the house, repeal Obamacare and Huzzah!”. The Republican Party has been nothing more than a Judas goat for conservatives for the last sixty years (excluding the individuals Trump and Reagan, who were always considered outsiders).
