Russian nationals living in Estonia will have their firearms forcibly confiscated by the police if they refuse to hand them over voluntarily under a new law.
The gun confiscation measure will also apply to Belarusians living in the eastern European country.
The government has finalized the details of the bill and it will be put before the legislature, after which it is expected to be voted into law.

The actual problem with Estonians in Russia/USSR is that for a long time the Soviets would not let them go home.
Anyway, if the Russians were to expel some ethnicity today I doubt anyone would complain - about them being expelled at least. Unless these are universally unwanted peoples (you know what I mean) being pushed into someplace that doesnt want them. Like the stunt Byelorussia pulled last year on the Poles.

It made a lot of sense at the time, under the prevailing circumstances. And the Spanish crown managed it in about as humanitarian a manner as it could, and far more so than the norms of the age. And that it was a prime subject for the Anglo-Protestant “leyenda negra” propaganda campaign that the Anglos maintained against the Spanish for centuries.
When the USA acquired the Southwest after the Mexican-American war there were almost no problems with the Spaniards and Mexicans who decided to stay, there was no need for expulsion.

Ukraine has not committed genocide and the “republics” you cite are rump states created by Russia and recognized only by Russia, Russian allies and Russian stooges in other so called republics created by Russia in South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
I don’t defend Ukraine being hostile to the Russian language and culture but I can understand it.
