FedEx CEO Raj Subramaniam told CNBC’s Jim Cramer on Thursday that he believes a recession is impending for the global economy. “I think so. But you know, these numbers, they don’t portend very well,” Subramaniam said in response to Cramer’s question of whether the economy is “going into a worldwide recession.”
The CEO’s pessimism came after FedEx missed estimates on revenue and earnings in its first quarter. The company also withdrew its full-year guidance. Shares of FedEx fell 15% in extended trading on Thursday.
“I’m very disappointed in the results that we just announced here, and you know, the headline really is the macro situation that we’re facing,” Subramaniam said in an interview on “Mad Money.”

The Biden administration still believes inflation is over and the economy is doing great. Reminds me of Baghdad Bob.
In other news, the sun sets in the west.
I wonder how long before the FedEx CEO is fired, 3 weeks ago this MORON said everything was fine and dandy!!!
I LOVED Baghdad Bob he was a hoot!!!
we entered it two quarters ago.
I had a Re-Bath rep in to quote on a tub shower conversion to a walk-in. He was much hoping for a political change at the election.
Just one guy but it sure sounded good. Surely most working people are thinking the same.
FedEx dude: Duh.
i think the “worldwide” recession is mainly just a “Fedex” recession ... from my perspective, they’ve completely fallen apart ... days-late deliveries, tracking that’s so inaccurate that it’s meaningless, etc. ...
Good Lord, are there any companies left in American NOT headed by a dot?!?
Anyone paying attention the last three years knows we’re in for a crash that will dwarf the last housing crash. It’s just that thing that nobody wants to talk about, but many of us are preparing for.
We have less than two months before this thing gets ramped up beyond belief. They know their time is short. And that’s not even addressing the economic catastrophe facet of this thing.
I don’t know about it being a FedEx only recession, I am retired and had to take a part time job because I could no longer live COMFORTABLY on my retirement, my 401K is getting very wobbly also!! I honestly really feel for seniors that are on their fixed income and not healthy enough to take on a part time job!!
Only thing we’re missing is a false flag calamity that will crash the market and initiate martial law before the midterms.
Stay frosty, and pray...
I could have told you that January 21, 2021.
He will start cutting workers just like the guy at IBM. With fuel prices increasing and years of “lock down” how can a shipping/transport company lose money? More people should be shipping product rather than driving themselves or going out. Seems like mismanagement and he’s training to blame the “economy” for his lack of leadership. Shareholders will demand answers if he did in fact say everything was ok a few weeks ago.
Yep. And I’m fully expecting it. They have been inching deeper into “scorched earth” mode ever since they comically slow walked the letters of impeachment to the senate.
I wonder what an ounce of gold or silver will be worth in ten years. Or a box of fifty 9mm hollow points.
...or November 5, 2020
Probably about the same...$2000-$2500 each...gold and silver are highly manipulated.... Ammo not so much..
however...silver may move up some as there is more of a demand for it industrial wise ...just IMHO of course..
The Biden administration doesn't believe any of that, but the administration says these things hoping that the gullible voters will believe them.
