Dr. Anthony Fauci announced his retirement Monday. He told Sheryl Gay Stolberg of the New York Times he will “pursue the next chapter” of his career in December. The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is 81, and has been in his post for 38 years. Fauci is a tragic figure, for his career represents in an individual the final collapse of American republicanism and the basic idea of common sense upon which it was built.

The “next phase of his career” needs to be as a federal prison inmate.
He is the biggest public health fraud in American history.
His big “sin” was the masks, not the vaccines. He told people that masks weren’t important at a time when medical personnel needed those masks more than we did. He did it to save American lives.
He took the big hit for something he had to recant later. To me that is a moment of true greatness, when your own selfish interests are put aside for the greater good. That he is suffering the conquences is proof of the truism.

Poster #1 is correct, the degree of confidence expressed by Anthony Fauci and many others in their opinions formed without data in January-April 2020 was completely inappropriate, and to double down on opinions which were being invalidated at the bedside day-by-day was reckless and foolish, in the way 82 year old men can be.
The damages caused by attempts to limit the circulation of the virus were the result of nearly-universal beliefs in all of Western Europe except Sweden, in most of Asia, in Australia and New Zealand, and in Canada. Fauci was and is influential, but he’s not THAT influential.
Trying the wreck the Great Barrington Declaration (which I signed on the first day) always felt like a cranky old man shouting “get off my lawn”.
That any of this forms the basis of a criminal case, ESPECIALLY one where capital punishment would be involved, although it is almost universally believed around here, remains to be seen. I myself do not believe Fauci, Collins, Redfield, Walensky, Newsom, Whitmer, or any f the other blue-state governors will ever be charged with a crime, and if they are, I do not believe any of them could ever be convicted.

It was tragic that he was in the position of responsibility and kept there for that long of a time at that salary.

Dr. Fauci lied to the President and the American people. His whole career has been pushing odd/dangerous vaccines rather than treatment. He helped finance the creation the Coronavirus and illegally used tax-payers’ funds to promoted its gain-of-function in a lab of a potential enemy. To promote his so-called vaccines, he lied about their effectiveness and minimized their dangers, and he ruled out fairly effective safe treatments and contributed to destroying the careers of doctors who disagreed. In the process he became very rich.
He was even worse with HIV
His biggest “sin” to me was putting down Trump when Trump mentioned Hydroxychloroquine as a potential treatment. Fauci knew at the time that it worked. He never even suggested that the public take extra vitamin D. He hated Trump and that was his first order of business.

He lied about the efficacy of the vaccines and downplayed the risks and REFUSED to consider alternatives like ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine
