The ABC, CBS and NBC evening news shows ignored reporting on a devastating poll that shows the American people are not buying President Joe Biden’s spin on the meaning of a recession.
An IBD/TIPP poll released Aug. 9 found that a “solid majority of Americans — 62% — think the U.S. economy is in a recession, up from 58% a month ago, 53% in June and 48% in May.” This followed news that the U.S. GDP contracted for the second month in a row to meet the technical definition of a recession. To make the report worse, the “IBD/TIPP Economic Optimism Index, an early month read on consumer confidence, slipped fourth-tenths [sic] of a point to 38.1, matching June's reading for the lowest since August 2011.” Despite all of this, the ABC World News Tonight, CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News completely ignored the poll during their Aug. 9, Aug. 10, Aug. 11, Aug. 12, Aug. 15, Aug. 16, Aug. 17 and Aug. 18 broadcasts. That’s literally over a week’s worth of news coverage.

The Three Mighty Blind Mice.
What the heck? The vast majority of those polled disagree with how the administration changed the definition of a recession???
There’s no “thinking” about it - we are. Two consecutive quarters of the economy shrinking is a recession.
with inflation, negative economic growth, declining stock markets, high unemployment and crashing oil prices, we in for far worse than a recession.
Depending on how Nov turns out, we may be in for a depression in 2023.
Big Three?
More like the Three Mousketeers...............
If you don’t say IT than it’s not happening.
BTW the team biden inflation bill is working.
Corn is down 15 cents a year!
Oh wait,it’s the end of the season. Never mind.

Both Target and Walmart just announced sales are down. Target reported a 90% drop in profit.
You wouldn’t know what to think unless you read the news reports about Target and Walmart really closely.
The stories I saw didn’t actually mention a decline in sales. The stories mentioned a “change in customer’s buying habits due to inflation”. The stories also talked about problems with “excess inventory”. MSM is being very careful not to directly mention falling sales due consumers having to cut back due to fuel and food prices (let’s go Brandon!).
Only if it is a Republican in office.
This really isn’t a recession.
We’re going through a deliberate, centrally controlled ‘adjustment’— a program designed to bring our standard of living to a level comparable to the rest of the world’s.

Ignoring the truth .... how novel
(media perspective) If everybody already knows it, then it’s a waste of airtime to report on it, right?
I wonder how many times the media has reported on Afghanistan this past week. That’s another reality to be avoided, not just historically, but also in its current state. Both are massive failures of the establishment and administrative state.
“Big Three Ignored Poll Showing 62% of Americans Think U.S Is in Recession for Over a Week”
that’s because only a gaggle of self-appointed experts using a special hand-waving formula of “many factors” at the National Economic Recession Institute can declare when the economy is in recession ... don’t matter what the peasants think ...
