Ironically, Capaldi is a great actor who played a great version of the doctor.
But the writing and stories during his run were atrocious. Woke and gay crap right out of the gate and it never got better.

Fan since 1979, I stopped with Capaldi. He is the last Doctor as far as I’m concerned. I often went to the big Doctor Who convention in LA each February, but I refuse to go now. There always were a lot of gay Doctor Who fans there and they were absolutely delighted at the idea of a female doctor, while I am not!

Actually... 12 was alive in stasis in the basement of the TARDIS, imprisoned by the RANI, who took his place to destroy his reputation. The imposter has done that. It’s easy to tell because every doctor loved and valued humanity, and that bitch just belittled and sneered at us. In the Real Timeline, River recruited Jenny, the Doctor’s daughter, and Dona Noble and hunted Time and Space to find him. They tracked him to the TARDIS, and cast the Rani into a black hole. Sadly, 12 was injured in that battle, but he regenerated into Jackson Lake, the faux-Doctor from that Christmas special. The REAL 13 went on to have many more family-friendly adventures.

My daughter made one for me. I still have it.
When she first made it a few years ago, I put together some other bits including a wig and hat and went to a costume party. I was delighted when someone recognized me as the fourth Doctor.
