As we reported previously three people were killed and two others injured after a shooter opened fire in the food court of a Greenwood, Indiana, shopping mall Sunday evening, police say.
Around 6:00 p.m. local time, multiple people called 911 to report an active shooter at the Greenwood Park Mall, Greenwood Police Department Chief Jim Ison told reporters.
During a media briefing Sunday, police said the shooter was armed with a rifle and several magazines of ammunition. The type was weapon was not described beyond being a long gun.
“It appears that he had a rifle with several magazines of ammunition, entered the food court and began shooting,” Ison said.
Ison said that the shooter was killed by another person at the mall who was armed. Ison said the “good Samaritan” was a 22-year-old man from Bartholomew County.

For anyone who ever played baseball beyond little league, 40 yards is 120 feet and second base is 122 feet from home plate. Scaling any shot is important. Using a known distance to calm the nerves (pistol) or dialing in drop and windage (rifle).
God Almighty gave him Psalm 144:1 ability to make it under fire. No doubt. SGT York taught us that stopping killers saves lives.
Some FR “experts” were telling us it had to be 40ft, not 40 yds.
Common train of thought is aim CoM and unload.
Probably what happened here.
It was a Glock 43X, 10 rd mag.
I coulda easily hit a man sized target at 40 yards. But back then I practiced ....... a lot. Not so much anymore.
Hickock used a caliber smaller than .40.
I guess he had not read all the experts writings in the latest gun magazines.
You’ve got to be kidding. Kyle Rittenhouse killed those guys from point Blank Range. No skill required
I’d like to know if he was using factory iron sights or a red dot optic.
I’ve been resisting pistol optics on the basis that 1. long range shots are highly unlikely and 2. most of the pistols I’ll pick up will be iron sights.
The church hero a few years back was a pistol instructor with an optical pistol sight.
If Dickens used an optical sight, the case is going to get a lot stronger for going that direction.
Of course, there is a lot to say for strong young 20-something eyeballs, iron sights or optical.

You are FOS. Throw in super high stress, a red-lined pulse, and firing from the ground at several people trying to attack you at the same time with a various weapons, see how you do.
I guess he had not read all the experts writings in the latest gun magazines.
Yes. .36 caliber which is .375 and actually slightly larger that a modern .38 Special which is .357. When Hickok was killed in 1876, the only firearm they found on him was a .32 Smith & Wesson tip up "Old Army" as they were called.
Rittenhouse couldn’t have missed if he tried.
Extremely stupid/trolling comment.
Let’s see you rolling on your back, after a 100 yard sprint, chased by an angry crowd out for your blood, now you’re on the ground, attacked by 3 people at contact range, including with a heavy skateboard (meant for breaking plate-glass windows) and a point-blank pistol, and see how you do.
Troll.
I’m not wasting my time on you, “big daddy” (LOL), my reply is meant for others with an IQ above room temp.
All point blank with a rifle. Not 40 yards away with a handgun. No comparison in marksmanship.
Go eff yourself, bigmouth blowhard.
Try it from your back at max stress after a 100 yard dash, chased by a mom screaming for your blood, while being slammed with a window-breaking major skateboard, drop-kicked by another, with a pistol in your face from a third.
I’ll give you leeway for being a drunk bigmouth, this being Saturday afternoon.
But you are still FOS.
chased by a MOB screaming for your blood
“Time to smoke some pot”
I always figured if I was in that situation I would stand behind a column and curve it around the column to hit the bad guy like Angelina Jolie. I feel it would be safer than being out in the open.
> Over on patriots.win the discussion degenerated quickly; hopefully not here.
Oh well.
Thanks! I had some inkling as the rounds expended were exactly 10, but off the cuff I woulda guessed 48, not 43x. Obviously he didn’t push left!
“I see a cowboy over there. How about a two liter? Whoa!”
