BREAKING: Biden Administration Moves to Cut Off Lake City .223/5.56 Ammo From the Commercial Market
The Truth About Guns ^ | June 15, 2022 | Dan Zimmerman

Posted on 06/16/2022 6:05:19 AM PDT by Perseverando

Apparently not content with its efforts so far to make gun ownership more difficult and expensive for America’s 100 million firearm owners, a source tells TTAG that the Biden administration is taking steps to constrict the availability of .223/5.56 ammunition available to the average shooter.

A person with knowledge of the situation tells us that, more than just “considering” the move, Winchester, which operates the US Army’s Lake City ammunition plant, has been informed that it may no longer sell M855 and SS109 ammunition produced in excess of the military’s needs on the civilian market.

How would that affect the civilian supply of .223 and 5.56 ammunition? We understand that as much as 30% of the commercial market’s sales volume of .223/5.56 is produced by Lake City.

The motive here is obvious. The Biden administration is attempting to further spike the price of ammunition, squeezing the owners of America’s favorite rifles…the scary black ones that the president assures us are only good for killing people and taking down Kevlar vest-wearing deer.

Let’s face it. Even the hapless Biden administration must realize that they don’t have any realistic prospect of getting another “assault weapons” ban through the Senate. Instead, they’re doing the next best thing. They want to make shooting most AR-15 rifles as expensive as possible for Americans who own between 20 and 25 million AR platform guns.

We’ve reached out to Winchester for a statement on the Biden administration’s move, but haven’t received a response yet. We’ll updated this post when we do.

I may not have all the facts here ... someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe Lake City produces the 5.56 military rounds exclusively. In their excess manufacturing capacity, they produce commercially available 5.56 rounds and the slightly lesser 223 rounds.

If Brandon makes it so they can only supply the military, they will choke off the supply for civilians.

Yesterday was the time to stock up on powder, primers, brass, and bullets.

I am not an attorney, but it seems to me that when Winchester bid that contract surplus capacity had been sold on the civilian market for many, many years. Preventing this sale is a material change in the terms of the contract and should be reason to renegotiate the price of the ammo made there.

More Bidenflation.

The government might actually own the production equipment and winchester might just have the production contract for the Army.

- -And just how do the Federales get to tell Winchester what legal products may or may not sell on the open market? --

Contract law. Make purchase conditional on exlcusive rights to purchase.

It's monopolistic behavior when private companies with substantial market share do this, but the government is not bound by any law.

Yes, you’ll recall Obama’s Operation Chokepoint that aimed to restrict banking and other financial services to those engaged in what the administration deemed to be unacceptable commerce.

Lake City is owned by the US Army. Winchester merely operates it under Federal contract.

I'm assuming there are plenty of clauses involved that allow US gov't to change terms at any time.

Hey Winchester: Just tell JoBama to suck it and sell it anyways. You don’t need permission to sell your own property.

Step 1: Destroy middle class
Step 2: Disarm law abiding citizens
Step 3: Unveil new dictatorial government

Just my perspective:

Step 1: Take control of social media and news media
Step 2: Indoctrinate children and adults in the education institutions
Step 3: Creat a false flag "plandemic:
Step 4: Steal an election with cooperation of corrupt politicians and political parties
Step 5: Arrest and lock up indefinitely those who objected
Step 6: Destroy the economy
Step 7: Bankrupt America
Step 8: Disrupt the supply chain with assistance from enemies foreign and domestic
Step 9: Destroy the energy sector due to climate change
Step 10: Destroy the food supply
Step 11: Destroy the means of self defense from tyranny
Step 12: Police State and Totalitarian Rule

I know some are out of sync and I probably left out some that others would think need to be added. Just did this on the fly. Look forward to hearing what I left out.

The other month I was reading Lake City Ammo plant is converting over their 5.56 line over to the new 6.8x51mm rounds.

Back in April the Army announced a new weapon to replace the M4 and M249.

The Lake City Army Ammo Plant is making its first new round in 65 years

Could this be a fake move by Biden administration to say they are doing something about Gun Control. The ammo plant must convert over to make production room for the new 6.8x51mm rounds. There will not be any excess .233/5.56 ammo if they are starting a new ammo line.

It is time to get rid of the Soros, Obozo and Biden Administration and the entire staff and advisors. These deadheads are running the Country into the ground with decisions that are not in the best interests of the American people. Just get them out of office permanently because there won’t be a USA by November 2022
