Russia will halt power supply to Finland on Saturday due to lack of payment.
According to Reuters, Russian utility Inter RAO will suspend the power supply to Finland due to non-payment since May 6.
The Finnish grid company said it can replace Russian electricity supply by importing more electricity from Sweden.
Sweden and Finland are both looking to join NATO.

Well, barely three months later the Ruble is rising quickly, the EU economy and manufacturing base is grinding to a halt, the US petro dollar is kaput, credit markets destroyed, disruption of everything the west needs, Russia is raking in billions in oil, NG, to fund Biden’s war, inflation is rampant in the western nations, and the dollar has been dethroned.
My guess? Vlad ( and Xi) declare Checkmate. Financial WWIII has been ignited, and the western rulers have been seen to have no clothes ( nor teethe).

Finns should get some advice from former South Vietnamese and Afghan officials before casting their lot with Joe “You’re on your own” Biden.
The Russians, like the North Vietnamese and Talibane, will wait until the time is ripe.

Of course Finland will buy energy. They’ll most likely buy natural gas from nearby Norway and then build gas fired electrical plants in the near future or perhaps even build additional nuclear power plants to assure their self sufficiency. The gas plants are more likely.
In any case they only bought 10% of their electricity from Russia and that can be quickly offset with increased production at other facilities. Granted, it will cost more.
And when the war is over they won’t need to buy energy from Russia nor will they since Russia is proving itself to be an enemy of the Finns and darn near everyone else in Europe.
