I think the “commitment” is where we talked them into giving up their nukes in exchange for protection etc

Also the US ideally supports countries being free independent democracies because of our history. Like when France helped us gain independance

I haven’t watched, or listened to Levin, in well over a year. Yeah...something doesn’t look right.

Agree....the lining up with the globalists, on several different issues, is something to witness.

Do we have a defense treaty with Ukraine?
If not, we have no legal obligation to go to war.

the Budapest Accession to the UN Nuclear Nonproliferation treaty that we signed, Russia signed, Ukraine signed. The Ukes honored it, Russia violated it by invading twice as soon as they found out there was oil & gas reserves there, and the USA is listening to pantywaist appeasers who are looking to abrogate our responsibility towards Uke sovereignty & borders, betraying them.

No one is assessing this conflict. Even Jesus would not want a suicide mission.
Luke 14:31
31Or what king on his way to war with another king will not first sit down and consider whether he can engage with ten thousand men the one coming against him with twenty thousand? 32And if he is unable, he will send a delegation while the other king is still far off, to ask for terms of peace.…

Allen West made his mark as a mercenary for the globalists who orchestrated the stupid “Iraq project.”

This is why I usually consider prior military service as a NEGATIVE attribute for a political candidate these days.

“...he’s an EU-WEF Soros GLOBALIST.

Yes, it’s really sad to see so many once good people fall for their evil crap.

Just one look or listen to Schwab should sicken and scare the hell out of them.

It’s like having a transaction for selling a car. The guy writes you a check for the car, seems like it’s good. You let him drive the car off the lot. Turns out the check is written in ‘meaninglessness’ invisible ink. Does the guy give back the car? Nope. So in a few weeks you and your mafioso buddy who owes you a favor run into this guy at the local bar. You tell the mafia thug, the guy ‘takes care of it’, all the while the car owner claiming since the agreement was meaningless then he gets the benefit of it and the other guy gets the loss. What that mafia thug will introduce to the guy is the inverse law of meaninglessness.

Proposing the Ukraine join NATO, an idea that was pushed by the Obama administration following in the footsteps of Clinton's and Bush's expansion deep into the former Warsaw Pact and former Soviet Baltic states, is the causus belli for Russia. We've been poking the bear almost continuously, with a brief hiatus under Trump, for the last thirty years. That doesn't excuse Putin, but throwing more fuel on a lit fire by NATO (meaning US) engaging Russia directly would not help the Ukrainians. It would in fact most likely get the place (and maybe the a large patch of the rest of the planet) turned to ash.

That aside, bottom line, Ukraine is not of Vital National Interest to the United States and therefore not worth an ounce of American blood. Helping them defend themselves, something they appear to be doing quite well with the material help being provided, is one thing. Anything further is an entirely different level of risk. And I'm surprised and saddened that Col. West has jumped on the war wagon.

The Budapest Memorandum has no legal bearing.
*** Asked & Answered:
https://freerepublic.com/focus/news/4044080/posts?page=142#142

“Not a treaty?”

Registration Number 52241
Title Memorandum on security assurances in connection with Ukraine’s accession to the TREATY on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons
https://treaties.un.org/Pages/showDetails.aspx?objid=0800000280401fbb

POTUS isn’t Emperor.
***POTUS represents us, just like the prez of Russia represented them and the prez of Ukraine represented them. That is how accessions to RATIFIED United Nations TREATIES operate. When trolleegator signs a document saying the US is at war with, say Mehico, then we are not at war with mehico because you don’t represent us. If the prez signs such a thing, we are at war because the prez represents us. That’s why creation didn’t fall when Eve bit the apple, it fell when Adam bit it because Adam represented Mankind but Eve didn’t.

I was in the military for the iraq thing. So we’re most of my best friends. None were mercenaries. We all trusted the voters to not elect people who would frat us as mercenaries. We all took an oath to the constitution and none got paid mercenary salaries. So watch what you are saying.

If you think we all got together with the bushes and sold our souls you are idiotically wrong.

West is not a bad candidate because he was in the military. He’s a bad candidate because he is unclear about his intentions.

The agreements died when Ukraine violated almost every basis of them in their destruction of that legitimate government, and their move to NATO.

I guess, using your logic, the never written down, remembered by some and not others, supposed agreement not to expand NATO, died with the change in Ukraine government as well?

Q: What is your solution to the considerable Russian Army’s mass murders, and mass graves, and razing of whole civilian apartment blocks, that every independent newsagency is reporting from the ground (Bucha, Irpin, Khirkov, Mariupol, Kramatorsk,) including the mainstream Japanese media which is rather independent , both Conservative and liberal outlets?
