If you take this guy seriously, you’re living in a simulation
Elon Musk holds out the promise of restoring “free speech” to Twitter. Yesterday the Tesla CEO offered $43 billion dollars to buy the social media platform outright. Conservatives are intoxicated by the idea. If by some miracle the shareholders take the offer, Musk promises to relax speech-policing and make the algorithms open source.
Presumably, he’ll continue shitposting from his toilet.
If we take Musk at his word, his intention is to open real debate and save our democracy. Then again, he also told us “China rocks,” robot slaves will replace every worker, universal basic income will soon be necessary, all vehicles will be autonomous, AI will achieve a god-like status, brain implants will connect us to that god, and ultimately, there’s a billion-to-one chance our universe is just a computer simulation.
A cynical listener might suspect this cyborg car-dealer is taking the public for a ride.
Even so, in the case of Twitter, the excitement is understandable. Starting with the Great Meme War that led up to Trump’s 2016 election, the platform laid waste to the funniest dudes on Frog Twitter—from Ricky Vaughn to Kantbot2000—and eventually, the cyber-Stasi banned the sitting President of the United States.

Elon Musk isn’t the Messiah, but he is a very interesting person. I don’t think he has stabbed me in the back yet, whereas the current social media moguls are clearly evil. I support Musk and I have concerns about people who say he’s the problem. There is a lot of bad dark money out there trying to stop Musk.
Musk is an innovator, anathema to everything Leftist.
Agreed. If someone is useful for our side, great. But avoid making heroes out of anybody. Otherwise you’re bound for disappointment.
Joke?
If you don't take the richest man in the world by far seriously, you must be living in cloud cuckooland.
You don't get to build the only reusable orbital rockets on the planet, like Musk does, by not being a serious man
It is clear to me that my thoughts must be the most dangerous ideas in the world since many are banned topics on the site.
The oceans of ink that have been spilled, all to prevent certain words and thoughts from being displayed on a website.
These are obviously very dangerous words to some people.
The Enemy of my Enemy is my friend.
Musk is one of the greatest men on the planet, whether he buys Twitter or not.
I’ve read that the thing that will save China’s economy is if people start buying boatloads of Chinese manufactured electric cars like Teslas.
The guy is straight out of “Atlas Shrugged” (the prequel, we are living). Is he Hank Reardon or Francisco d’Anconia?
Why does this author think Musk is kidding?
Has he ever driven a Model S? Stood on the causeway as a Falcon 9 lifts off? Or watched as the first stage returns to the landing zone like a Jonny Quest show?
Does he have any clue about the incredible effort it took to make those things happen?
As for the predictions about where robotics are taking us, who is he to criticize? Musk has created the future in so many areas that it’s head spinning - but this guy knows he’s nutz now?
Musk has had the last laugh so many times, it’s almost trite to say it.
I am not a user of twater, fakebook, tik-tok or any social media but I just saw on John Solomon's 'Just the News' that Trump's 'Truth Social' is out of beta and is running on Rumble.
What impact this will have on twatter remains to be seen, but there will be some vibrations.
I don't sell President Trump short on his view of business, so we'll have to wait and see.
As far as I know, he hasn’t revealed his plan to eliminate 1/3 of the world’s population with some magic vaccine, like some others, so I’ll continue to watch, with interest.
This is just a screed on Musk.
I have to laugh , jard,
Here is Musk, stepping forward to enhance 1st amendment free speach culture and he magnetizes fascist screeds from all over the spectrum of much brain , fascist utopian ideologues.
Now Musk is in their heads 24/7. They sing songs like Johnny one note against Musk, Trump and De Santis....blah, blah , blah.I lovewatching them squirm and squeel , America is coming for ya, you utopian fascist mush brains!
Lay it on Elon! Nail the ba$tards!
Re screeds: That’s what happens when you’re on top… Everyone tries to knock you down.
He’s an amazing man.
Just an article informing people who Musk really is in case they don’t know. He has some bizarre beliefs and ideas. Like anyone, full faith towards him is not the best plan. He’s a brilliant but strange man. If he can break twitter censorship, great.
Musk for president? hell no but I’ve seen it said here.
“Warning F-bomb in article
Thanks. There’s an s-bomb near the beginning.
Musk is indeed an eccentric. But at least he is showing any signs of megalomania like Gates or Zuckerburg who appear as gods in their own minds.
Musk was taxed and waxed in California, he moved his operation to Texas/ And so far his activity shows him to be a populist entrepreneur. I do not recommend him for president, but Trump putting him in a cabinet postion might be an option.
Lets see how the Twitter buy works out.
Agreed!
He’s a Disruptor, like Trump.
And anyone that disrupts and otherwise impedes the commie left - ESPECIALLY someone with enough “F-You Money” to laugh in their faces - should be applauded and aided. He’s the ultimate Capitalist and he’s shoving it up their “collective”.
