Econ Dunce Ruhle: Fed Raising Interest Rates Means the 'Economy Is Doing Well!'

Anyone who's ever listened to Stephanie Ruhle's commentary on either NBC Nightly News or her failing daytime show on MSNBC will realize she is extremely partisan and very dumb when it comes to basic economics. She proved this once again during a segment on Wednesday night's NBC Nightly News when she made the preposterous claim that when the Federal Reserve raises interest rates, it means "the economy is doing well."

During a segment on the announcement from the Federal Reserve that the central bank will keep interest rates close to zero and begin raise rates in March, anchor Lester Holt brought in the NBC business correspondent to explain to viewers what to expect when interest rates are eventually inched up over the course of the year.

Holt asked Ruhle what does "this expected move by the Fed mean to all of us?" Ruhle answered that "when the Federal Reserve raises interest rates, that is a signal that the economy is doing well." She then got into specifics on what the immediate effect will be on consumers when interest rates are increased by the Federal Reserve:

“when the Federal Reserve raises interest rates, it means the economy is doing well.”

If that was the case why didn’t the Fed raise rates during the years of the booming Trump economy?

If you remember, they did. They did it then to damage Trump. Now they are not raising interest rates to protect biden. The time to raise rates was back in January when housing prices were overheating and energy was still cheep. Eventually they will have to raise rates. And when they do, it will crush the economy. The longer they kick the can down the road, the more painful it will be. There's no avoiding it now, the fed has totally failed. But that always happens when they go political or woke.

The ignorance of economics is rampant in mainstream news, as well as most programs on the business news networks. 99% of journalists have degrees in journalism, which is solely a glorified degree that says one can read and write at a sixth-grade level. This is one side of the problem. The other side is a huge percentage of Americans are ignorant of economics. That is a failure of government indoctrination centers. Teachers are woefully ignorant in almost every facet of knowledge and have never been required to take a real college level course in anything dealing with mathematics, science, business or economics - they take the kiddie propaganda courses instead, with minors in bulletin board decoration. Thus, no child being passed through government schools is going to learn anything accurate about economics.

This is what happens when leftist take over education. The only way for leftists to succeed if for Americans to be ignorant of how things really work.

Interest rates going up means the Fed is throwing out the ez money playbook in exchange for fighting inflation. It also means the Biden Administration is dead. The more they try to pump money, the more the Fed will tighten.

“This is what happens when leftist take over education. The only way for leftists to succeed if for Americans to be ignorant of how things really work.”

Kamala Harris immediately came to mind, as I read your statement.
The VP of The USA doesn’t know anything, her brain can’t process information properly. She can’t even spout off her “woke talking points” correctly because she can’t align her answers in the right order.

If Harris ,Warren, AOC, Talib, Omar, types ever get full control of all three branches of government. You might as well be giving gasoline and lighters to a group of juvenile arsonists. The arsonists would probably cause less damage than the four progressives mentioned.

“Scream when they raise.*

Scream when they lower.

Scream when they stand pat.”

Many people aren’t happy unless they have something to complain about. If one complains about everything it shows consistency & keeps things simple.

How do I know this?

“I’m one of them.”

* Interest Rates are going up, finally.(Its about damn time)

the economy is NOT doing well, it’s called INFLATION!!!

it give the ILLUSION that the economy is doing well, because it results in record sales and record taxes.

But those are INFLATED sales and INFLATED tax receipts!
