Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington appeared to brush off Hollywood's obsession with diversity in a recent media interview, suggesting the buzzword "shouldn't even be mentioned" when promoting works of art.
The legendary movie star took a decidedly more color-blind approach to arts and entertainment than the one espoused by modern progressive "anti-racism" advocates while discussing his new film, “The Tragedy of Macbeth," which is a stripped-down retelling of the Shakespearean classic.
“Obviously we are diverse, so I think that’s a great thing,” Washington told NBC BLK, a news segment devoted to the African-American perspective, during a roundtable meeting with other media outlets.

Something wicked this way comes."
I’ve always liked Denzel. This article just makes me like him more.
Pretty much Morgan Freeman’s take.
Denzel is a good guy with LOADS of class. He’s always been one of my favorites. I pull out The Equalizer every so often, to watch him make short work of the bad guys.
One of my favorite Denzel movies is “Out Of Time” from 2003.
He’s been great in everything I’ve ever seen him in. “Unstoppable” was a very interesting movie BECAUSE of him.
“Flight”, “The Book Of Eli”, “The Taking Of Pelham 123”, “American Gangster”, “Deja Vu”, “Man On Fire”, “Training Day”, “The Bone Collector”, “Courage Under Fire”, “Crimson Tide”, “Glory”. Every single one of them was fantastic (as are the Equalizer movies).
Unabashed fan of him, for sure.
I will check it out, thank you!
“Fallen” was a freaky movie but I liked him in it. John Goodman did well also.
Thanks-I am going to check that out. I am a fan of his as well, not just for his acting, but for his support of our military.
I have that on my list now...thank you!
I was watching a small series the other day on Netflix. It was all about a boy and him being the last of a line of sorcerers needed to save the world from the coming darkness.
Everything was going along fine until it was almost over.... then suddenly with no explanation at all and with no back story to back it up, the girl he had met half way through everything turned out to be the real hero with the powers and by the way, two of the guys they had been traveling with were suddenly gay and loved each other.
I almost puked. I was like WTH!!! I could almost see a bunch of Woke Karens sitting around a table somewhere and saying... ok.. this is an ok story.. but what if! the girl turns out to be the hero and these two guys are gay?
The Book of Eli is great and you’re right, the ending was definitely NOT what I expected.
Carbon Copy
The Pelican Brief
Remember The Titans
The Bone Collector
The Hurricane
The Taking of Pelham 123
Inside Man
Safehouse
2 Guns
All excellent movies from Denzel Washington.
Definitely watch Inside Man!
It is a bank heist movie but not violent, though there are guns on display. The plot has a couple of twists and turns.
You won’t be disappointed.
It has Denzel Washington, Clive Owen, Jodie Foster and Christopher Plummer.
Bkmk
Antwoine Fisher - excellent movie
The Pelican Brief
Denzel always been one of my favorite actors. Has he ever made a bad movie?
I would pay to watch Denzel Washington reading the phone book.
He makes videos about serving God. He is quite a man.
Antwone Fisher
There were no white males in the Air Force diversity pictorial publication I was looking at today. Plenty of white females, though. Erasing white males doesn’t seem very “diverse” to me.
