Schools should be in full session on MLK Jr Day without exception.
Isn’t the encouragement of open dialogue and continuing education the primary reasons for MLK Jr Day? And if so, why aren’t students in full attendance on the very day that honors this man? There is simply no better way to honor the national holiday than dedicating his story, lessons, and experiences to the students for an entire day.

Oh by the way, Happy St. Marty’s Day
MLK Day has morphed into socialist BS about “service” - a day where people could donate their time to doing things for black people for free. Here in NJ I see “coat giveaways” in the news, just as Halloween turned into an opportunity to give away things to the same people.
Sad...
No, absolutely not. Public school/ leftist indoctrination has proven itself as the bane of liberty and logical rational thought.
School ought to be a place where “how” is taught, how to read, write, do math, the “what” ought to be removed from public education.
As history is teaching, every generation of PS has been further reduced to the what, and the how gets lost in the process.
Give me a child who knows how to read write and figure, and they will be able to think through a problem or task. Give a “woke” youth and I’ll show you a person who most likely can’t explain why they hold a position they’ve been led to believe. But they’ll know how to throw a brick....
The less time spent in public "education", the better off the kids.
Public schools are child abuse.
Homeschool bump.
Don’t worry, we got “snowed in” today. The MLK Day parade in my hometown was canceled, too.
Jackie Robinson? A baseball player gets his own National holiday?
Yes, because there is no Civil Rights movement without what he did, it was all on him.
Heh, heartbreakin’.
