A Florida man and his wife, both of them sheriff’s deputies, have committed suicide within days of each other, leaving their one-month-old son behind as an orphan, an official said.
Clayton Osteen, a St. Lucie County Deputy, died on January 2nd. Days after Osteen’s death, his wife, Deputy Victoria Pacheco, also took her own life “in the wake of her husband’s death,” Sheriff Ken Mascara said in a statement on Tuesday.
So sad. That child deserves the best home.
This is a odd case, I suspect the wife said or did something (adultery?) to drive him to suicide then she followed suit out of guilt.
Why? Where did it go wrong?
I wonder if Clayton may have been suffering from PTSD.
Really, no details?
I don’t assume suicide for two new parents with a six week old.
A great loss to the family, the Sheriffs office, Florida and the nation.
Prayers Up!
Yes, there’s certainly something odd about this. PTSD can come up suddenly and really knock people back. His wife probably felt very guilty about not having been able to help, or perhaps she felt she had done something (argued, maybe?) that pushed him.
Very sad in any case. I hope the baby has grandparents or other family members who can take him in.
It doesn’t take that much time for a reporter to get further details. This is just plain laziness.
Sumthin doesn’t smell right about this case.
They weren’t married. They were boyfriend/girlfriend.
Just like soccer players who die from heart attacks all of the time, parents of newborns commit suicide all the time too. It’s just that it never gets reported just like the soccer players.
The father’s brother is currently caring for the baby, according to the article.
“Dozens of people spontaneously combust each year. It’s just not really widely reported.”
Really?....Hm?......Like Jeffery Epstein, maybe they did not kill themselvess.
Not his wife. It says girlfriend.
I’m with you on this. Something is fishy about the whole thing. Someone wanted these people dead.
.....and madness is in their hearts, while they live....another sad example...
That’s my thought.
At least the baby was spared.
You should write books. Pretty cogent guess.
