College Football Bowl Cancellations: Updated List Of Games Canceled By COVID-19 For 2021-22

Yawn. Perhaps the Oregon game would be interesting to watch.
Mario Christobal is the sleaziest coach in America. Once he gets Oregon to #2 in the nation he lobbies Miami into hiring him as their coach for $100 million. Good news for Oregon is they overpaid for this poor in-game coach.
Can’t wait till he loses to FL and FL State and give his lame excuses. Good riddance.
Go Ducks
While some teams enjoy the warm weather down South, Maryland gets to enjoy the ambience of the South Bronx.
Maybe I'm just an old grouch, but I yearn for the days of the big four bowl games on New Year's and needing a second TV because the Sugar and Cotton Bowls were at the same time.
I love all the bowl games. Over the years, some of the lower to mid-tier bowl games have been better than the larger ones.
It’s a great opportunity to be able to see the smaller schools play.
My Minnesota Golden Gophers won their bowl game last night. I was up ‘til 12:45AM.
My second favorite team (University of Houston) won their bowl game yesterday.
And Air Force won. I can never root against the service academies - except when they play my alma mater.
Never been a big Clemson fan. So I’ll take Iowa State.
Hate Oregon’s weekly fashion show of uniforms. I’ll take Oklahoma.
And Miami hadn’t even fired Diaz yet, when the word got out they were negotiating with Cristobal.
Cristobal goes down to Miami to “visit his dying mother” the week of the Pac Championship and then the rumors started flying. He went down to sign the contract and lied about his visit then gets blown out of the Championship game.
Miami overpaid and glad he is gone.
You're welcome.
A thank you has become so rare on FR. I've grown to expect mostly criticism.
Agree. It’s hard to keep up with the ever changing sponsorship names.
Just locally here in San Diego, people in casual conversation just call it the Holiday Bowl, as opposed to referring to it by the full formal corporate sponsorship name. I wonder if other people in other places do the same.
And if so, it makes one wonder if the sponsorship really pays off for the companies which slap their name on these games.
LOL, they get a wintertime trip to the South Bronx for their bowl game.
Good one, LOL.
The year after it was taken over (bought out) and renamed in a self-serving manner, the game announcers who had been doing the game for years before came to the game wearing peach-colored ties.
All just in good fun, mind you. :)
Does anyone have a link that allows us to watch for free? (No cable.)
I thought the Wasabi Bowl was pretty hot myself
All American RB Breece Hall is not playing today.
My wife, being a Miami grad, and I keep up on football there.
Manny Diaz got screwed over. He took a team that was essentially dead and got them bowl eligible. They beat Pitt and NC State on the way to bowl eligibility.
That really had to sting to find out that the Administration was prepping him for an under the bus experience while he was trying to get them ready for a bowl game.

In 2015, my alma mater (University of Minnesota) played in the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit - only two days after Christmas.
Our charter flight flew us in the morning of the game. We bussed into downtown Detroit and boozed up at a bar near Ford Field. After the game, we stayed at a hotel out by the airport and resumed boozing.
Prior to the game, they took us on a tour of downtown Detroit. I could see that they were trying to make an effort to clean up downtown Detroit but that they had a lot of work ahead of them. While on the freeway from the airport to downtown, we did see a few areas that looked downright crummy.
Good Luck, and Happy New Year.
