I am dying here laughing at some of the reactions to the Rittenhouse verdict, filled with hyperbole, outright lies, and delicious tears. I’d like to document the best ones.

Keeping in mind that Mr. Rittenhouse shot three white guys in self defense, I’ll start with the Rev. Al Sharpton, who seems to be living in an alternate universe:

"These continue to be dark days for black people killed at the hands of people that believe our lives do not matter. This verdict was not only outrageous and dangerous, it was also an obvious signal that encourages and notifies 'vigilantes' that they can continue to use violence to assert their power, and more importantly that they are above the criminal justice system when they do."

I read that DU thread as well because on a day like this I truly enjoy that schadenfreude feeling.

I think that many leftists, after realizing that the media gaslighted them on Rittenhouse, are going to flip as they examine the other lies that they swallowed.

A part of me wonders if this jury was more influenced by the Chauvin jury than by the mob outside. They may have felt that the Chauvin jury was unduly influenced by the media and the mob, and so this jury dug in their heels and stuck to the facts and the law.
