Major update: The judge in the Rittenhouse case has just informed the media, “I think the jury is going to retire for the evening.”
The twelve jurors in the Kyle Rittenhouse case are in deliberations after a tense court trial that has national ramifications. The prosecution has botched a weak case that alleges Rittenhouse is guilty of killing two men and injuring a third man during a Black Lives Matter riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin in August 2020. Rittenhouse’s defense maintains he acted in self-defense.
Although all of Rittenhouse’s victims were white,all of them had serious criminal records, and they were caught on high-definition video openly chasing and attacking the boy, who was seventeen years old at the time, the U.S. media has once again turned a clear case of self-defense into a racially politicized circus.
The Kenosho Sheriff even released a statement ahead of the Rittenhouse verdict, which was expected to be delivered today or tomorrow.
“The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and Kenosha Police Department understand and recognize the anxiety surrounding the Kyle Rittenhouse trial,” the statement says. “There are many questions being asked from our community as well as media outlets.”
“Our departments have worked together and made coordinated efforts over the last year to improve response capabilities to large scale events,” the statement added ominously. “We have strengtheneed our existing relationships with State and Federal resources.”

I find the report credible. Courtroom deputies are called marshals in some places, so the reference was not necessarily to U.S. Marshals. Then too, sometimes a courtroom deputy is mistakenly called a marshal. Also, having been around courts for more than forty years, I can say that there is more courthouse gossip than you would ever believe, and courtroom deputies are not eunuchs in that regard.
They could start by arresting this Chris Rice character for jury intimidation. That IS illegal, and the world should see that Kenosha is serious about enforcing it’s laws.
This is an extremely serious accusation, but if it’s not true it’s very irresponsible to spread this story. Considering that the judge simply sent the jury home leads me to believe it’s not true.

There are 94 U.S. Marshals in the United States. Each associated with a Federal District Court. They each have a Deputy, and Asst. Deputy Marshal. All three in each district have the power to deputize many deputy marshals.
We saw this in the way President Trump authorized the National Guard units to come to District of Columbia in the summer of 2020 (and in other towns for that matter). These units, en masse were filmed being administered the Oath of Deputization/Office. They all then became under the command of the District Marshal.... deputies with Federal enforcement powers.
So- yes— WHO is the Kenosha Marshal? Is there a Kenosha based Federal Court District? If so, then that would be the only US Marshal present... with that title. And they would NEVER have access to a State Court Jury and any of the individuals (even if they were protecting the same. Zero Conversation allowed).
