TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) - Gerald Goins, 84, has been calling this studio-sized motel room in Tempe home for several months. And even though it's small, he said it was enough room for him and his son Andy.
But last week, his son up and left. "I went to the doctor’s office. After an hour, two hours, I got a ride to come here and he was gone,” said Goins.
Goins said all that was left in his motel room was a handwritten note from his son with instructions on how he was supposed to take care of himself. “He came into my office just looking bewildered, handed me this note and this EBT card and he didn’t understand what was going on,” said April Alt.
This sort of thing NEVER happened when Grover Cleveland was president.
Oh stop! XD
The fundraising goal was 10k and it’s headed to $18k right now.
Sweet.
“My funds have been exhausted, my retirement money has been transferred or taken by my son. I have no money left and am trying to get back to my hometown,” he said.
Is this not a criminal offense on the sons part as in imbezelment. Don't know, asking.
I believe the proper authorities are involved at this point. Looks legit.
You'd think the family would send him a flipping bus ticket.
If the son did what it says he did I’d horsewhip him myself. I’ll wait for the final say.
Welcome to the United States of American , 2021
However I cannot help but wonder if there is a Rest of the Story.
Nah Keep the poor guy off a Covid infested bus.
Must be a safer way ?
Son needs an ass kickin’!!!
When I hear about kids who treat their parents so reprehensibly, I am aware that any kid can go bad.
But when the whole family is involved, I have to wonder about the job the parents did raising the children.
I’m the oldest of five and when my mom became ill and passed, (and dad had preceded her by several years) not ONE of us ever thought of abandoning her. We all did what we could.
And when she died, she had everything in such meticulous order and spelled out in the will, that there was no arguing about how the estate was to be divided.
Part of it was her having everything so well documented, but none of us thought of causing any problems over it, and the one brother who MAY have done so, was outvoted 4:1 and didn’t stand a chance.
Who here thinks the son won’t come back now there’s money ???
Ha! The prodigal son?
If it benefits the little creep, yep.
Sad. Someone should help this man take care of the money raised so his filthy son can’t take it from him.

Not if he gave his son ‘Power of Attorney’.
$18452. Enough to get to Ohio for sure.
How do we know that this old coot isn’t some cantankerous impossible monster? Maybe the son finally had enough. All we know is what the old guy sez.
It makes me so sad, that a son could do this to his father. I miss my Dad so much; I’d love to still have him around.

Good...the son will be coming back as soon as he knows there’s money available...make sure there are a few guys to hold sonny boy down while Grandpa gives his buttocks a good blistering with the buckle-end of a belt.
The son is going to show up and take whatever he can. He will spin some story and try to get his hands on his father’s money.
