The U.S. has provided an estimated $83 billion worth of training and equipment to Afghan security forces since 2001. This year, alone, the U.S. military aid to Afghan forces was $3 billion.
Putting price tags on American military equipment still in Afghanistan isn’t an easy task. In the fog of war – or withdrawal – Afghanistan has always been a black box with little sunshine.
Not helping transparency, the Biden Administration is now hiding key audits on Afghan military equipment.
The Taliban has seized US weapons left in Afghanistan worth billions — possibly including 600,000 assault rifles, some 2,000 armored vehicles, and 40 aircraft, including Black Hawks, according to reports.
The war chest also included the supply of at least 600,000 infantry weapons — including M16 assault rifles — as well as 162,000 pieces of communication equipment and 16,000 night-vision goggles.
In just two years from 2017 to 2019, the US gave 7,035 machine guns, 4,702 Humvees, 20,040 hand grenades, 2,520 bombs and 1,394 grenade launchers, The Hill noted, citing a report last year from the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR).
“Everything that hasn’t been destroyed is the Taliban’s now,” one US official told Reuters, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
Well, now they have the weapons but can they use them properly after fighting with AK-47 most of their lives?
That question was probably answered when one of our readers sent us a video of a Taliban fighter who is trying to figure out how the U.S. automatic weapon works!

No matter how the Taliban uses it all, it is already a huge embarrassment for the US.

Even stupid people like Taliban can win because they look forward to die in Jehad, and get those 72 virgins waiting for them in Allah’s heaven.
After years of US special forces training in Syria and in Afghanistan, these al Qaeda, guys are not nearly as incompetent as people are making them out to be.

US should have left behind little booklets in their languages saying
“To be certain the weapon has ammunition ready to fire, always look straight down the barrel. Never have the safety on as you carry any weapon as this allows two extra seconds for the infidels to get the drop on you. The best way to learn the use of a weapon is to go into the field among comrades and try firing it a few times. “

Seeing a couple problems here. First off, this is an old video. Not sure how old but an absolute minimum of several months.
Secondly, I don’t seem to recall the US EVER using Russian PPSH-41s.
