My father is in his late 70's, type-1 diabetic, requires oxygen, and has been very clear - do not resuscitate, or any significant treatment if something happened. He's had a long life and is content, doesn't want to burden. His right arm stopped moving, 911 called - ended up in ICU, he had a stroke. They thought he would pass but now it appears he has lost motor control on his entire right side and is in EXACTLY the circumstances he didn't want to be in, it looks like he will live. My mother won't be able to care for him. My brother and I will do what we can but can only be limited. I'm in tears and need prayers & advise. Thank you in advance.
We’re all in southeast Michigan.
Sorry to hear about your mother. It’s similar situation. He’s been frail for years, we were all prepared for his exit...but not this. Seeing my mother in such distress is as bad as knowing my dad is suffering.
Praying for you and your family.
Prayers lifted for you and your family... May God lead...
God Bless.
I’m sorry to hear that. Prayers for you, your dad and your family in dealing with this situation.
Prayers offered up.
If your Dad is a veteran, VA benefits now include up to $2000 for Home Health Aides, or a nursing home.
I left you a note on the Prayer Thread.
Update...
Today he was breathing more calmly and looked comfortable. I asked God “it is time to let him go”...maybe it was the calm breathing that I picked up on - but he passed minutes later.
This was exactly what he wanted. With all his health problems he didn’t want another long fight he wouldn’t win. He would have just been alive but not living. He was a good man of faith. He knew where he was going and was content.
I’d argue this was as good an outcome as possible. It didn’t take long, loved ones around, he was completely unconscious for the last couple of days. I was able to hold my mother during his last breaths.
Praise be to God...and THANK YOU FRiends for all the prayers!! It really meant a lot to me.
Amen.
Take care.
Praying for you all.
Dear Lord— please hear us! Amen.
God keep you
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and
may perpetual light shine upon him
may his soul and all the souls of the
faithfully departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
May your wonderful father now hear the words
Well done my good and faithful servant...
come share your fathers joy
