In an interview with The Big Issue, William Shatner spoke about mankind’s future, his love of danger, and his own mortality.
Many fans of Star Trek drew comfort from the fact that humans made it to the future without destroying themselves, but Shatner doesn’t think this will happen. “Fifty years ago, I read Rachel Carson‘s Silent Spring,” he explained. “I remember vividly. What she said was going to happen has happened.

Well, I agree with him, but from a Christian perspective and understanding human nature. I really don’t see how this continues more than a very few decades, barring horrific world war and a true “reset”.
And, frankly, that sums up the contents of Revelation, Daniel, Ezekiel, et-al.
I like and respect him, even if he’s wrong on this.
Assuming there is no large scale nuclear war, the human race will likely be fine. And, actually, I think the biggest threats are the Woke idiots running around.

A lot of actors are like that. They confuse the great experience of having a role that makes their career with reality. For example Martin Sheen is convinced his West Wing role gave him profound insight on the Presidency.

Rachael Carson is responsible for the banning of DDT which resulted in the deaths of millions of people in places like India and other areas where Malaria is rampant. She was wrong about everything. Is Spring silent where Shatner lives?
