A Christian alternative to the Boy Scouts, Trail Life USA, is filling in the gap since membership in the Boy Scouts took a huge dive after moving to a more woke focus.
Boy Scouts of America lost two million members in the past eight years.
Trail Life USA started after the Boy Scouts decision to lift its ban on gay scout leaders. The Christian-based alternative group seeks to “guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure.”

20 + years ago, our Town had 3 Boy Scout troops - One sponsored by the American Legion, another Troop Sponsored by the local Lions club and the third troop sponsored by the Lutheran Church. All of the troops were active and had a lot of Boys involved.
Today we have barely one troop with only 8 Scouts, sponsored by the Lions Club - and that is close to folding.
I’m a former scoutmaster, who helped 14 boys attain the rank of Eagle Scout. I’m an Eagle, as are my son and brother. I worked for the Boy Scouts, professionally, in the 1970’s, as a district scout executive. The organization is a sad, hollow caricature of what it was when I and my son were growing up. My three grandsons are not likely to become Boy Scouts, which is regrettable (to me) but wisely reasonable, considering the lack of ethics and morals in the current organization, as a whole.
Liberalism destroys everything it touches.
The BSA was once a great American institution. Ruined by liberalism.

That always got me, that the Boy Scouts won in court. Yet after that hard fought court case, they decided to allow gay leaders anyway.
The membership decline shows a certain number of parents are voting with their feet, so to speak, and avoiding having their sons in this new version of Boy Scouts. Another issue could well be now that girls are allowed in the Boy Scouts. Some people seem to have a hard time with the concept, that there should be organizations for boys only, and others for girls only.

If your feelings are the same about the current corrupted US military are similar, I’d entirely support you, and I proudly served stateside as an Army 01 and 02 in 1968 and 1069. I’m totally ashamed of what the current, “woke,” homosexualized military has become.

America is falling because the Republicans we elect cave to the left on every issue. Gates and Tillerson are no different than the Bush family, the Rockefeller’s, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, John Cornyn, Kevin McCarthy, Linsday Graham, John McCain, and most GOP elected officials. Anyone who believes voting GOP in the 2022 elections will save the republic, should look at the Boy Scouts.
These cases go back to BEFORE the gay leaders were legitimized. This situation is literally destroying the organization and they decided to make it official policy anyway. Because they all care more about getting plaudits from the left than the institution of the Boy Scouts.

One of the Connecticut state park was an former Boy Scout camp another scout camp got sold to the Pequot tribe, since it was a spiritual place for them.
I’m an old fart with only 2/3 of a farter, but that’s still rather a bit much.
When I put my own boys through it during the late 1990s - early 2000s, it was not the same Scouts I went through. For one, pocket knives were strictly prohibited. Every activity was dumbed down and made "super safe" - parents were encouraged or even mandated to chaperone their sons on outside activities, including camping. Which was mostly the moms because the dads typically had to be at work.
After a couple years, my sons got bored with the whole experience and I pulled them out. I don't blame them one bit.
As an aside, my sister was in the Girl Scout program during the 1970s and that was a good experience for her as well. Even they did the whole camping thing - it wasn't just making brownies and selling cookies, that's for sure. I never understood why being a girl scout had such a stigma to it later on to the point where they rolled them into the boy scouts. Those girls scouts of the 1970s would outperform the typical boys of today in just about any outdoor activity.
