Possible Relocation to Ashville, NC. for 30 yo daughter Any thoughts appreciated.
North of Gwinnett County, along the I -85 corridor, traveling up to and through South Carolina.
Greenville, SC is still ok.
Biggest problems with the South right now is all the companies moving down there, bringing their sh*tty liberal employees with them and the fact that NONE of the county commissions, city councils, zoning boards, etc, seem to be able to say, Slow Down(at least), if not, STOP. All they’re seeing is $$$$$ with the increased tax revenues and subdivisions. Of course, most of that being done so they can sell off their families land and maybe retired to Reynolds Plantation or possibly, even, St Simons, while they leave behind a train wreck.
So many small towns in Georgia are in the process of getting crushed and most of the residents don’t even know how bad they’ve been sold out.
An utter Leftist cesspool despite being a very beautiful place.
It works for the most part, but occasionally is disrupted for a couple of hours.

South Carolina isn’t a Blue State, yet...
I was in town recently. Ate at a nice restaurant. The homeless filled the small park across the street. No room for any non-homeless to use the park.
Oops, NORTH Carolina isn’t a Blue State yet, but it is closer to turning Blue than South Carolina.
Greenville SC is OK, as long as she can stay off 85. From Anderson to the NC state line is hell’s highway. I say a prayer every time I go through there. I have counted 5 accidents in 12 miles.
Also, Spartanburg and Anderson, and some of the surrounding towns are BAD NEWS! The sheriff even has a sign in the parking lot at a nice Holiday Inn Express in north Spartanburg, warning to take all valuables out of your vehicle.
Theft is off the charts and the courts are useless. This is a national hot spot for portable building theft. Only Eastern Kentucky is worse. Probably a million dollars of stolen buildings a year in that area, and the law and courts are useless. Stolen trailers and vehicles are the norm. Etc. etc.
He’s from western NC .....but not Asheville.......

Others have said there are good restaurants. Daughter just read there are lots of Vegan restaurants—nirvana for vegans...She is not.
But thank you for the information.

Do consider all the negative reasons previously stated...Ashville is also an attraction for the ‘wiccan’ types. The area is considered an area of great ‘harmonic convergence’ like Mt Shasta, CA, Santa Fe NM. etc.
