A Colorado Mayor unilaterally banned the Pledge of Allegiance at city meetings. In an immediate show of defiance, members of the public and the Board of Trustees almost immediately stood and recited it anyhow as the Mayor threatened to call everyone out of order.
Mayor Shane Fuhrman made this decision without approval from the Board. The elected officials previously discussed and rejected the idea but the Mayor pushed his anti-Pledge agenda anyhow.

I think in this case since it’s an actual news item with video attached, it’s a little easier to forgive the “blog pimping”.
Also, that mayor is a disgusting example of anti-American control freaks who get the tiniest bit of power and suddenly fancy themselves Stalin. That attitude of “if it’s not in the rule book saying I can’t do it, then I have the power to do it” is downright disturbing.
True as sad as that is.

Board of Trustees should have had an immediate recall vote and demand for the mayor’s resignation. If the mayor failed to comply, citizens would be waiting outside with appropriate amounts of tar and feathers.

Impeach the bass turd!
First time I drove up to Silverton I did not know what I was getting into. Left Durango in a front wheel drive Audi and a snow storm came up as I was climbing Molas (sp?) Pass. My wife was pregnant and her friend had a small child and was our guide. It was not a bad as Wolf Creed was in those days when it was snow packed the week prior, but it was a tricky day.
