Posted on 06/22/2021 8:05:20 AM PDT by MJacks4
A Colorado Mayor unilaterally banned the Pledge of Allegiance at city meetings. In an immediate show of defiance, members of the public and the Board of Trustees almost immediately stood and recited it anyhow as the Mayor threatened to call everyone out of order.
Mayor Shane Fuhrman made this decision without approval from the Board. The elected officials previously discussed and rejected the idea but the Mayor pushed his anti-Pledge agenda anyhow.

A NY, liberal, hipster Leftist that hates this country, is a control freak, thinks he’s smarter than everyone else.
How and why he ended up in that town is beyond me.
How in the hell he got elected is even more beyond me.
Is “The Mix” your website? You seem to link to it a lot, and it just caused a bunch of online slowness when I went to the website.
Tar and feathers is requested. Expect repeated applications
That blistering turd.
How good that made me feel to see the anti-American douchebag's own board give him the giant middle finger with hands over the heart!
Uh, yeah, Durango/Silverton ain’t exactly metro areas. Well they didn’t use to be. Sounds like there are some “metros” holding office now.
One of the most brilliant things are great and wonderful president Donald J Trump did was cleverly divide America into two camps pro America and anti-America
This is flushed out all of the fakers both Republicans and Democrats who tried to act all patriotic but in their heart of hearts really are socialists are communists
This is out in far SW Colorado...population of 6oo to 700 people. Probably just two people running and this guy got 200 votes.
I don’t think he really knows the town, or the region of Colorado that well.
Thank you for posting that.
However, I do want to warn you, people can be inhospitable to those who post excerpts from blogs.
You are new here, if it is your blog, don’t excerpt it...put your entire portion of the blog that is relevant here. Otherwise, people are (and will) accuse you of “Blog Pimping”.
Just friendly advice...:)
Welcome to Free Republic!
The high altitude mining town of Silverton is above Durango. Now these historic towns are over run by doper-leftists. Great region but sad situation.
In the poor quality video that mayor sounds not very macho and not very male. Is he, uh, do you think he’s....
1950s childhood joke:
Guy asking pharmacist for liniment for sore muscles.
Pharmacist: Ben Gay?
Guy: No, but we kinda wonder about Kenny, though.
He got elected via fellow “NY, liberal, hipster leftists” that hate this country and escaped NY taxes for CO. Bringing with them their idiotic voting habits.
What a petty little tyrant. I’m happy to see that His Effeminacy got his come-uppance.
The haters of America are waxing bolder.
The video I saw didn’t show reciting the pledge or the mayor’s reaction. I can guess he wasn’t ‘tickled’ about it.
“If you’d like to find somewhere in the code, something that doesn’t permit me to do this, then I welcome that discussion at our next meetings,” Mayor Fuhrman said.
He sounds like a budding tyrant. Thinks he can do anything that is not specifically prohibited in the code. The town had better think hard about the potential consequences of allowing someone like this to serve as mayor.
“How in the hell he got elected is even more beyond me.”
Come on. We all know that elections are a farse. The people who get elected are those who paid off the most bosses.
People have disappeared during winter blizzards in that part of CO!
All rational people need to go on strike against lefturd loon evil. Who is John Galt?
I also heard Ben Gay jokes as a kid, but it would have been in the 1970s. Are you sure the term “gay” was in use (that way) in the ‘50s?
