HOW RADICAL ARE THE TEACHERS’ UNIONS?
Powerline ^ | 13 June 2021 | John Hinderaker

Until the U.S. Supreme Court decided the Janus case in 2018, citizens of a number of states, including Minnesota, were essentially taxed to support local teachers’ unions. In those states, no one could legally teach in a public school without paying the union out of his or her salary–which, of course, came entirely from taxpayers. That this situation was allowed to persist for decades should have been a scandal.

Teachers’ unions, like all public sector unions, have always been pro-government and therefore liberal. But I suspect most people do not understand how partisan, and how radical, the teachers’ unions are. A few days ago, I happened to come across this 5″ by 7″ card produced by Education Minnesota. It advertises the union’s political initiative WeMakeMN.com. Click to enlarge:

I think that means you share your wealth with them. This is the back of the card:

I was a member of NEA for exactly 1 year in 1990. Then they made the mistake of sending me the national convention manifesto. I read it and agreed with nothing. They never got another penny. I found other organizations to provide lawsuit insurance.

Plato pointed out that those who educate children control the future. For the long term plan to turn America in a socialist nation control of the schools is the most important tool of the left.

World class schools.?? Boy, they sure blew that one.. The US schools have some of the highest payed teachers in the world, and yet the results are mediocre at best..

One of the biggest cross-national tests is the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), which every three years measures reading ability, math and science literacy and other key skills among 15-year-olds in dozens of developed and developing countries. The most recent PISA results, from 2015, placed the U.S. an unimpressive 38th out of 71 countries in math and 24th in science. Among the 35 members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which sponsors the PISA initiative, the U.S. ranked 30th in math and 19th in science. From the Pew Research Center...

Along with the FBI and IRS, they are the biggest terrorist group within the United States.

Until this pandemic I thought teachers were good folks,
Now after refusing to go to school for stoopid reasons I think nothing good about public school teachers.

Catholic schools have stayed open, why have public schools refused to open?
Cause NEA is crappola.

I’ve worked in public education for 25 years and have never joined the union. I’m amazed teachers pay the monthly dues with no return on their bunk.

I was a member of NEA for exactly 1 year in 1990.

NEA kicked out my state’s teacher organization—Missouri State Teacher Association because it refused to require membership in NEA. Maybe five or six years later NEA created MNEA which has members mainly in urban areas. MSTA, wisely, I think, tries to be non-partisan in the belief that sometimes dems are in power and sometimes Republicans are running things.

“The US schools have some of the highest payed teachers in the world, and yet the results are mediocre at best..”

The reason for that is that teachers and our education system is no longer teaching, they are indoctrinating in Leftist ideology

Many of us wanted to be with our students but had to fight fearful administrators who were willing to exaggerate our fears to the school board. We had to go remote between Thanksgiving and New Years because they told our board we were soooo scared.
