The governor signed a bill into law on Friday that would require death row inmates who are about to be executed to choose between the electric chair and firing squad, CNN reported.’

I would deliberately miss. That way if the perp dies it wasn’t me that had the live bullet. If I had the live one and missed the perp would need a new pair of pants and go free. Something about double jeopardy.

Something about double jeopardy. I think only one person of the firing squad gets a blank, not only one person gets a live round.

The bottom line, the recoil feels different with the blank. You pretty much know when you fired one versus a live round.
And if your weapon is a semi auto...it wont charge a new round if you fire a blank.
Most guys on death row deserve to be there...and I am for the death penalty...but I would have a rough time pulling the trigger too.
Maybe they give the option to family members of the victim. Im sure they’d have a lot of takers.

That sounds like something the Norks would do.

AT the bottom of the choice sheet the prisoners get to check which form of death they get to choose from, they should put a memo, ‘Compliments of ___________(drug company that refused to sell the states the medication for legal injection)

Something about double jeopardy. I believe that issue was already settled by the court system, in a case where the rope broke or the electric chair malfunctioned, I can't remember which.
The guy got executed a second time. Double jeopardy didn't work out for him, although that's exactly what his lawyer argued. It was a long time ago.
