Hollywood appears to be canceling itself. Identity politics has fueled cannibalism in Tinseltown with the Golden Globes being a major target for the political correctness agenda.
Tom Cruise has even returned his three Golden Globes.
And, Ricky Gervais has the perfect response to all of this.

Why do you keep chopping off your blog after three sentences? I get that you’re not a hit and run poster, but seriously, your blog is completely sourced from outside, so there is no reason at all to truncate it and force folks to go off of FR to read it. Just my opinion, my FRiend.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) runs the Golden Globes. An LA Times report accuses the HFPA of having a lack of diversity and an abundance of corruption. For instance, there isn’t a single Black HFPA member.
So the Golden Globes are no longer going to be televised by NBC….

Of course, Gervais took notice of all of this. He responded with the perfect three-word tweet that slammed all the wokeness.
It was suggested that instead of The Golden Globes, Gervais should host a Hollywood Roast. The comedian replied it could be called The Golden Balls.

It means Hollywood are torching their own cultural capital, thus erasing themselves.
It can’t be brought back without a huge admission that Hollywood has become insane. So Golden Globes is gone forever.
Overall, its a good thing.
One insipid boring self-serving awards show down, and how many more to go?
Hmm...Academy Awards show was 56% down in ratings this year. If it's a trend, I like it.

The real reason they “cancelled” the awards is the embarrassment factor.
Nobody cares about these fake shows with a parade of phonies and a political agenda, and the fact that the other show-biz award shows have had the most dismal viewership since forever (although it had been dropping all along) is motivating Hollywood and Broadway to pretend that they’re dropping out because they’re too pure and they’re above it...while the real reason is that they can’t face the humiliation of having no viewers and possibly even having the nets drop the shows.
They may be Golden Globes today, but eventually will become SAG awards
NBC got out of the Golden Globes because it going to be a money loser.
Whatever will we do without the ability to see self-absorbed prima donnas give each other awards?
Oh wait, there's still the Tonys, the Oscars, the Emmys, the Grammies, etc. We'll be fine. Whew!
