Former President Donald Trump said that he would “certainly consider” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as a potential running mate in 2024.
Speaking to Maria Bartiromo on FOX Business, Trump also said that he is one hundred percent thinking about running — and that it will be “very successful.”

Please don’t take DeSantis from Florida, Trump! We need him here until 28. He can rise up for 2028.
Problem is both president and vice president candidates cannot be from the same state. So, Donald Trump would have to move out of Florida.

Conventional wisdom and Donald Trump are almost never in the same sentence.
Besides, no matter how the loudmouths in NYC may scream (but they loved him day when he was a Democrat), President Trump is generally considered a New Yorker.

A VP from a northern or western state would present a more inclusive ticket. (Preferably one who can benefit the electoral college).
Trump actually has moved out of Florida and has changed his legal residence to NJ. So maybe this is an indication?

This is why all presidential tickets have people from different states.
