President Joe Biden pledged Thursday to slash U.S. emissions of greenhouse gases in at least half by 2030 — an ambitious target that will require retooling the world's largest economy in an effort to put the U.S. at the forefront of the international campaign to slow climate change.
It's a goal the White House insists the U.S. can meet even if Congress rejects Biden's calls for trillions of dollars in green infrastructure spending.

Joe and his Admin are not living in the Real World
I agree. It appears that even the Dems can’t find a way to squeeze it through at the moment, so they’ll let JoJo “take executive action” on the issue.
Joe hasn’t lived in reality for a very long time.
“You can’t change things like Climate Change by just flicking a switch!”
“Oh, yes you can! Just flick that switch, the one over there on the wall, to OFF.”
Exterminate Americans so the ChiComs can come and take over with their non-Green New Deal enterprise.
This is the Green New Deal Bill giveup signal. They have given up on passing it.
I hate to get all joe-bidet generation Indian on you there joey, but:
How???
There is another Politico article about how HR-1 (federalization of elections) is essentially dead so that is another signal that it won’t pass. Just read Politico to find out which bills the Democrats have basically given up on. Oh, and another one also signaled DEAD today in Politico is DC statehood.
Should be no issues as long as no $ is involved as congress still controls.
Interesting. I’ll have to read those articles.
Will Joe even be let outside of the retirement home in 2030?
He’s imposing rules and restrictions on a world he will never live in.
It is good to think you are king. Unfortunately, the establishment is king.
Corporations are King, and this is what they want.
The plan was Covid 19, the the vaccines, then the climate change, then the alien invasion and if all else fails WW111. The climate change isn’t getting any traction. Look for either the alien invasion or a nuclear event.
Congress has abdicated its legislative authority. The Supreme Court had abdicated its judicial authority. Biden’s handlers have assumed ALL authority.
No one should complain.
We’re in the era of big government, and even so-called conservatives grow it when in power.
Like in ancient Rome, you have a dysfunctional Congress (Senate with Rome), and eventually a Cesar comes to rule, but in our case instead of a direct “emperor” or “king” we have formed a vast government apparatus with agencies and departments that control up to 43% of the nations GDP (if you add city, county, state and federal up), run the nations health care and deciding what sort of care everyone gets (NIH and their “standard of care” which everyone follows) and single biggest hospital system (the VA), plus Medicare and Medicaid (1/3 of the nations health care spending) and a plethora of other programs plus what the states are doing today already means a de facto government run health care... Retirements (Social security), education (public schools, pre-K, government subsidies to daycare, state run colleges, federal run schools)... Not counting state, city, or the DoD, the office of personnel management has about 2.2 million federal employees and is the largest single employer in the US.
America is a country that talks about “private markets” and “free enterprise,” about “personal choice” and “private property” when in reality it is already a socialized system where government is a hand in the background directing how it all runs as well as giving itself the right to collect information in a near unrestricted fashion, while being unaccountable for it’s actions. You don’t have a king, but you do have about 17 government agencies and departments (EPA, FAA, DEA, FDA, DOE, DoE, DOL, DoT, DOT, DOS, DHS, TSA, USDA, DHHS, HUD, ATF, DOI) writing regulations (CFR - about 51,000 pages in 50 volumes, double column, size 10 font, double sided, and with 3,000 various violations for which there are fines or imprisonment) with the force of the law behind it where congress does not vote on the matter and directly impact the lives of so called free citizens.
If the TSA change their policies and simply decide that now their new procedures no longer allow you to opt out if they choose, raise their rate (charged per passenger) or you can’t change your mind and return and get detained if already in the security area, who will stop them? What “legislative process” does their policy changes which impact the civil liberties and finances of so called free citizens go through?
America is a technocracy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technocracy
The emperor can influence these agencies and departments greatly. We have an emperor who is over about 17 kings that have their own little kingdoms. Nothing really changes - except the color of the flags, names and faces, but it’s all really much like in the old times if you think about it.
Biden farts in our general direction.
It’s a goal the White House insists the U.S. can meet even if Congress rejects Biden’s calls for trillions of dollars in green infrastructure spending.

What does Congress do anyway?
