Well, time to check in and report the goings-on in Sillyville.
I'm still in NYC, still writing, and reaching 10 years with my employer (Woo-har!).
CURRENT PASSIONS:
DEGOOGLED PHONES and internet privacy are very important these days, and I'm enjoying the community over at Brax.Me. Nice to have a non-political ally in Rob Braxman; I hope you're familiar with him and supportive.
Favorite phone: Original Google edition Pixel and Pixel XL (2016). (In Very Silver and Quite Black, respectively.
BRAX.ME reminds me somewhat of FR, and I've run into some Freepers there.
NY TIMES MET DIARY writing is — just lately — a bit slow, but I’ve had five stories published in the last two years, and eager to find ideas. Would be great to get two in this year to meet my pace.
LINUX! YES, LINUX! I'm cutting my teeth on Linux, with a System76 Darter Pro due to arrive in about 2 weeks, and a Star LabTop Mk IV on order to set up for my brother. I'm diving in and really looking forward to a lot of learning. If you're into Linux, let's chat!

What are you doing with de-googled phones? I have a Nexus 6 with Lineage OS, but I still don’t carry it around with me. I have always gotten along without becoming a slave to it, so I don’t see any reason to start now. But as things return to normal and we can start traveling again, I would like to use for maps and ordering an Uber and things like that.

Well my neighbors called the law on me today, they called 911 and told the dispatch I was out in my front yard right in front of everyone spanking my monkey. Well the law came 🚨 sirens blasting knocked on my door and demanded to know what the hell was going on.
They left in a hurry when I told the I actually own a Monkey and that I spanked him for being in the road...
Years ago I kept a dozen or so Araucana chickens, and when one would get to the point of being suitable for chicken stew, I would take it out in the front yard and... choke it.
OMG, I swear I never knew....
... and then there was a time that a friend of mine tried to ingratiate himself with the local clergy. I advised him to be discreet about it, lest he be accused of buttering up the bishop.
