IF “The Turtle” DOES resign his seat, I truly HOPE that a TRUMP SUPPORTER replaces him instead of a “cooperator”/RINO.
ANYBODY the Mitch suggest should NOT be trusted by the voters of KY to represent them, rather than the Chamber of Commerce, the LOBBYISTS with their sacks of CASH from 14th Street & every SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP, too.
IF I had my way, OFFERING, SOLICTING or ACCEPTING anything “of value” from a paid lobbyist would be PROHIBITED & a FELONY for both parties involved.
(I would not allow a lobbyist to even buy a member of Congress a cheeseburger & fries.)

Under current law, the power to appoint McConnell’s replacement falls to Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear. But new legislation McConnell is pushing in the Kentucky General Assembly would strip the governor of that power and put it into the hands of the state GOP. The Republicans hold a veto-proof majority in Kentucky, so they could override a veto by the Democrat governor. I wonder what the Kentucky constitution says on this issue. I imagine it would be a tough fight in the courts.
